Scatch-Built Miniature Models of LA City Streets
Sergio Jauregui quit his day job working on elevators to study set design and then began making beautiful miniature dioramas of his LA neighborhood. We meet up with Sergio at this year’s DesignerCon to see his miniatures up close and learn how he scratch-builds these detailed models.

FYI typo in the video description.
Love his work.
There is another artist I follow on Instagram that does similar pieces: https://www.instagram.com/joshua_smith_street_artist/
I like Sergio’s choices of buildings. They are the ones that he sees on the street every day. I was hoping to buy one of his ice cream carts (all sold out, bummers).
Norm, great interview.
Just in case we need to see more tiny things, here is a web site on tiny food made with tiny kitchen appliances on tiny stoves.

It’s not quite as colorful as these models, but as a hobby 3d scanned New York City last year and have been offering them as highly accurate 1:5000 scale panels. Check them out. We’d love to send some to you; perhaps the one that includes the Javits Center or Adam’s old neighborhood in the West Village?

shoot me an email! norman
i wonder if he’ll stay free form or if he’ll eventually adhere to scale?
