Great Video Norm,
You just solidified my mission to get a laser cutter this year .
Hey Norm, can you provide a link for that sticky putty stuff you used? I’ve been using poster putty to do stuf like that but it’s not sticky enough for most things.
here you go, for Butyl!

What is this white elephant think?
You venting the cutter through a filtration system? Saw the big box next to the cutter, assumed that was the air filter. Trying to figure out the ventilation system for my new Glowforge given the delays in their Air Filter.
+1 on comments for including more detail on the tools you were using in the build (AC Glue, Butyl, etc.) Those are the tips you pick up that we all love to learn about!
It’s a big industrial filter that came with the Universal Laser – it works great but is really expensive – http://www.bofaamericas.com/filters.asp
We have vented the Glowforge into it as well but it’s a little overkill for that size cutter. It also makes the built-in exhaust fan spin very fast and loud. We checked with Glowforge and they said it should be fine and that the software should give us a warning if it’s not.
It will be interesting to see what the community comes up with for filtration, for now I would say out the window.
Link to the svg/dxf for cutting?
I was wondering if you have a link to vector files that you’ve used for the project? Would be cool to cut it on a Glowforge
