We Check Out Dremel’s DigiLab Laser Cutter
We check out Dremel’s new DigiLab hobby laser cutter, their first forray into the personal laser cutter space. This device is Dremel’s take on the Full Spectrum Laser Muse cutter, with their own software, testing, and support. We take a look at its operation, cooling unit, and chat about concerns like laser lifespan and safety.

that price is idiotic.
it’s 2 times the price of a glowforge, and 10 times more of the same size laser i made (that was 400€ including it’s flightcase, not a glass tube, but diode lasers are almost just as fast)
Yeah the price isn’t exactly in the hobby range
Wow, that’s expensive! I believe you can get a comparable Epilog laser in that price range and they’ve been developing laser cutters for years, No thanks, Dremel.
The Dremel Guy didn’t say whether the laser can go edge-to-edge, but the stuff they’re cutting looks like it has a margin. Any official specs on that?
12″x20″ is an interesting size choice. It matches the Glowforge, so I guess it’s kinda-sorta “standard” (imposed by some hardware limitation with the laser?). It’s a little annoying, though, since materials are often 12″x24″. Maybe with multiple laser cutters using that size, material suppliers will start offering compatible options.
