Well Marv you should keep in mind a few things:
-There are real accounts of Dodo birds when they were alive
-Museums/Archeologists would consider this and most likely have have bone specialist exam the remains to figure out if there were any extra extremities.
What i’m more interested in is the color scheme of the Dodo, how varied were they and do many accounts give detailed descriptions of their feather design.
Yes… the thought of having a cloth and feather dodo kinda like a rubber chicken is pretty amusing. 🙂

Thanks Will, it’s one of the items that Amazon won’t ship internationally but I’ll attempt to stock up next time I’m in the US. Getting a few boxes of Super Sculpey through customs should be fun. 😉

I am so excited that you have this as a project. I am Mauritian. I am first gen and grew up in SoCal all my life but most of my family lives in Mauritius and I try to go back every few years. When I saw this I totally tripped cuz no one ever knows that Mauritius exists and I always reference the Dodo bird and they usually have heard of that. What was that original article that peeked your interest? Love what you do keep doing it.

you guys should do some articles about 3D scanning and use the dodo as the object. I would love an .stl for a Dodo skull to print.

my 10 year old daughter just read a book by Douglas adams that talks a bit about dodos and endangered birds and has told me she wants to go to Mauritius around 20 times
