Building A Real Life-Size Wall-E Robot
The beloved Wall-E robot was just computer generated graphics in the Pixar movie, but fans have spent years trying to bring him to life. We visit Mike McMaster’s workshop to see his incredible life-size Wall-E, a remote controlled robot that lives among an R2-D2 droid and other pets on Mike’s orange farm.

That is really cool.
Very impressive!
Really cool video, guys!
Lol I really appreciate the cockroach.
hope to see more robots and how they are built. Good job Tested!
Wow what a great project. My little ones happened to catch me watching this and never moved. I’m sure the builder lives within 20 minutes of me. If you are going to show this guy off in the valley please send me a message.
Very cool!
Interesting fact: the roach is named Hal, named after the Producer of the Little Rascals shorts.
When I watched this, I was grinning ear to ear. Great content, Tested!
Love that he describes the process of working backward finding the scale from finding the size the video tape in Wall-E’s hands. Scaling seems like such a uniquely challenging, fun puzzle.
The weathering is amazing too! Mike mentions YouTube videos helped- any videos in particular?
Totally giggled like the fangirl I am at Wall-E bobbing his head to “Put on Your Sunday Clothes”! 🙂
Thanks for another awesome video!
“It’s Alive!!!”
I’ve seen a few videos of a real life wall-e at one of the disney theme parks. I wonder if they’ve talked to the imagineers who made that one for tips?
Great weathering and painting.
<3

Combined with some sensors, a Raspberry PI and some AI this wold be the coolest pet in the world, and the most adorable robots in the world.
I keep coming back to this page even after all these years!!! Enjoyed seeing my fave robot made in real life! WTG!
