Tested Builds: Japanese Papercraft, Part 2
Will and Norm continue to build the Porco Rosso Japanese papercraft kit, and the details of the structure they’re constructing being to take shape! We only got through one page of the instructions in the first episode, so this next one is extra long at over an hour to catch up and keep page. The 720p video stops around 10 minutes in for me (480p works fine). Anyone else have that problem?
Mine plays for the full length.
Professional papercrafter here (and prior Whiskey member) – You guys are making the small, intricate builds so we don’t have to!
Thanks for the great video! This made me go on ebay and buy a kit myself. Their ghibli models was a bit pricy, so I went for a old Japanese house first. The MS Surface 2 RT does not like this video though, had to view ot on my android instead. Also, Google Translate App on android works fine with Japanese to English. (Via the camera.)
Thanks for introducing this topic, never seen those paper models before. I guess thanks to you guys the Porco Rosso kit on HLJ has sold out…
mhhh… so what to start with… ???
Hey, what’s the single black square on Will’s cutting mat?
Oh, man, I hate being that nerd, but Something Wicked This Way Comes is Bradbury, not Shakespeare. Great book too! You should really read it.
Ok, I’m hooked – Had to try this paper craft thing out.
Ordered a smaller kit (Mei’s house). Can’t wait!
Thanks for a really great show – Even the wife finds it charming, even though she’s not really into the kind of stuff it’s about.
When I switch from default to hd it takes long time for the video playback. If I fast forward also takes long time to start playback. The video player is not ready for prime time in my opinion.
Are you planning to post the time-lapse footage from Norms phone? Interested to see if that turned out.
When is Chromecast support coming? I was hoping to watch this video on my large TV and realized this is not on Youtube so can’t cast it.
it works on Apple TV just fine. But I could not get it without either.
Would be easier to follow if you guys had head mounted cams or maybe Google glass to record
At 01:02:30 really reminded my of this old BBC clip from a Harry Enfield comedy show!

I send the mp4 video direct to my chromecast using yatse on my nexus 7, it works great although you need the unlocked version to stream
