Throughout these videos Frank’s emotions went from enthusiast to patient to frustrated, funny stuff. The project was inspiring and will use this for future fun, Thanks guys..
This was an awesome project guys. live by the motto: Failure is always an option!
LED’s probably burnt out from too much voltage btw..
Yep, too much voltage – you’ll be getting 7.4 out of the speed controller, but most LED’s only need <5v, and some, like your cheap red ones need under 2..
That’s why you’ll often see resistors in the circuits driving LED’s to ensure that the voltage is dropped down enough to not burn them out..
See http://ledcalc.com for a calculator to work out the correct resistance for a given application. 🙂
Hm, I can’t watch any of these videos! Someone please help!
Great series! I’m tempted to try something out myself but while you have 10$ servos, it looks like a 600$ RC controller (correct me if I’m wrong). What you be a suitable starter controller?
The dx6i is around $160…
Try updating your flash if it is out of date, as this has caused problem for others.
I am no expert and do not own one of these myself but I think the Turnigy 9X should work fine for these kinds of things. It costs about 60€ and should be the same amount in dollars.
You can find it from places like hobbyking or amazon.
I was thinking a screw through the top of the head into dowel would have held it in place and several L brackets would have held the servos together. Sure there are hundreds of ways to do the assembly.. Thanks for this build guys. I learned so much about something I’ve always wanted to do..
Should I install Adobe’s Pepper Flash? I seem to remember I had to disable it one time. Can’t remember the reason. I’m on a mac.
Are you seeing a player, or is the video-element not loading at all?
I just get a black box where the player should be.
