Tested: Driving the Tesla Model X with Autopilot
We take the newly-released Tesla Model X for a test drive, courtesy of a friend of Tested. Here’s how the Model X compares with the Model S, how the gull wing doors work, and what it’s like to drive with Tesla’s Autopilot mode on the freeway. It’s exciting and terrifying at the same time!

Jealousy level is over 9000!!!!
Cool video, love that you’re talking to an actual owner.
Is it just me or does this thing look like a First Order Storm Trooper in car form?
I want one…
Time to see what Norm couldn’t stop thinking about.
Excellent video, guys.
Wondering about how the proximity censor reacts to Motorcycles ? On your Test drive did you come across this at all ?
In the view in the dash you get little motorcycle icons driving by. Semi trucks also have their own icons.
I think it would take me a while to get used to not touching the wheel, but that is very smart.
OK , Cool thanks .
So, so, so very jealous
I believe that guy works at Apple.
I have to wonder if self driving cars will mix well with manually driven ones, like Patrick mentioned humans are irrational and unpredictable things, self driving cars will probably work a lot better when all other cars are also self driving and they use some wireless communication protocol to coordinate between each other to seamlessly switch lanes, be perfectly safe at really high speeds bumper to bumper etc.
Hate to say but this guy’s fly may (or may not) be undone. But if it’s in doubt, it’s probably not a good look.
HAHA my fly wasn’t undone but I can see what you mean. The pants I am wearing today don’t have that issue FYI. No idea what was going, good looking out I guess?
That’s one awesome piece of tech.
I don’t think we’ll see autonomous cars drive bumper to bumper at high speeds any time soon. First we’ll need to find a way to make affordable indestructible tires. In a situation like that a blown tire will lead to a lot of damage and casualties.
Christian seems like a really nice guy. Great video, thanks.
