Have you tried Beat Saber yet? I just tried it on my Rift and am thinking this may be breakout game for VR. I’m 64, not particularly graceful or musical, but am having great fun with this, tho I imagine I’ll bet at the beginner level a lot longer the most.

Guess I`ll blow of the dust from my old S6 and Gear VR again. Been a while since I tried it. See if it still works, or I should upgrade to a GO?…
I really can`t see any other future (for me at last) than fully standalone headsets, so looking forward to more news about Santa Cruz as well.
They did try it, I believe their review was in the last episode of projections, or maybe the one before that (omni-directional threadmill one)?
How is the battery life on it?
The primary reason I don’t use my Gear VR and S7 is because, it just sucks battery life and I still have a day to go through with my phone to do regular phone stuff. Add in battery degradation from age and it’s a total drainer that it’s not attractive to pick up.
How is performance compared to Gear VR? Definitely found a lot of frames dropped on Gear VR. I’m curious that despite it being an older process in Oculus Go, it’s not being tasked with doing “phone stuff” in the background either like running all of android and everything else.
2.5 hours, and doesn’t get hot in the facial interface. i think it not using your phone and killing battery life there is a big selling point.
performance has only gotten choppy once, in bigscreen vr with a bunch of avatars in the room and watching a streaming video. i do occasionally notice minor visual artifacting when the system is using ATW to compensate for dropped frames and smoothing out the experience.
we’ll be talking about it later this week!
As a VR virgin with a small budget this is a really interesting product at that price point. The fact that it supports Plex is really awesome for people that have that set up. I do have two questions though:
1. If there’s no official YouTube app, is there going to be a bunch of third party ones very soon? Because if not that’s a huge bummer to always have to go to the webpage to access YouTube
2. Am I ever going to be able to play Minecraft on this? Seems like it wouldn’t be that hard to do but I don’t know if Microsoft develops for the Oculus platform
