It does take Hawking awhile to write responses, in interviews it is usually edited out. Recently his old computer was replaced with a modern one. It now uses SwiftKey to predict words, and Intel open sourced the Assistive Context Aware Toolkit.

I can’t post them here because this comment editor errors out when I try.
Good job Jeremy, you ran the ship well!
Jeremy! We have the larger version of Adam’s Trotec (24″ x 39 1/2″ cut bed and the front and back open up to pass through longer items) . In case you are unable to cut all the pieces you need on the smaller bed send me a message. I would love to be able to help on one of your builds!
And coming from the man that wired and programed Adam’s captains chair, Kerbel must be terrifyingly difficult!
Great Podcast!
I accidentally flipped two numbers in Moment of Science. 8% of our genome are viral artifacts and 1.2% are “useful” bits that encode necessary proteins. Accidentally switched them in my head though my notes had them right. Sorry!
Waiting for the email from HTC that my Vive has shipped is murder. What can Will’s VR thing be?? I need to know!
As we came to the end I noticed there had been no sponsor’s message, but there it was, right at the end. This show brought to you by Game Frame.
just a short note about why someone would have the playstation camera: because a bundle of a ps4, two controllers, the camera, and bloodborne was the same price as the ps4 with one controller, and buying bloodborne extra.
Loved this ep.
made me think…. what if you consider the bytes on a hard drive as DNA? Then how much of it is considered “junk data” and how much is “useful”?
And what about this code that deals with this thing called a “C: drive”. This is surely one of the oldest and most ancient artifacts one could find in a modern operating system. Maybe one of the last vestiges of CP/M (and MSDOS), from the old days of PCs.
In the OpenSSL open source library, there is a huge amount of ‘junk code’ accumulated over decades, but it was only considered a problem for the general community when the Heartbleed security bug was pointed out. This caused some people to throw out a bunch of that ‘junk code’ and pare it down to just the basics – that is the LibreSSL project…
re. 1:55:40 – this is nicer than a construction prop for a support:

..light, but expensive, and comes in black
I was blessed to be at the cape for STS-135…and I can tell you it was one of the most amazing things I have ever witnessed. We were right on the causeway and you saw the engines light but heard no sound until you saw the shock wave come across the water and hit you. I can’t begin to tell you the awe I felt.
Holy crap, I actually agree with Will on a movie for once. Man of Steel was awesome.
Great job at the helm, Jeremy!
Great podcast, well done Jeremy!! Do it again soon please.
Great show. Probably a little late for Will, but these might be another great alternative to a construction prop. Ikea’s Stolmen closet pole is lightweight and looks half decent, but may not be as quick as a tripod.
