Show and Tell: Bonelab Skeleton Kits
For this week’s Show and Tell, Norm shares some amazing laser cut kits created by artist Greg Peltz. These Bonelab kits are single sheets of plastic that break out into interlocking puzzle pieces that assemble into beautifully recreated skeletons of animals. We show you the process of building one of these kits, and reveal a new kit that’s Greg’s most complex design so far.

These are freaking awesome. The rattlesnake is especially impressive.
Yep! That rattlesnake kit is really amazing..
Thanks for showing these off, Norm. I am going to go check out their website right now.. 👋

“Ooo, mood lighting!”
Pretty amazing stuff here I have to say.
Is that a shirt with Anna Fisher on it?
wow, the gesture of that rattlesnake is amazingly well done. it looks like a natural, sinuous compound curve but needs to be pieced together from single lasercuttable sheet pieces. that limitation became pretty much invisible.
I want that shirt! Where did you purchase it lol. 🙂
I am totally reminded of those wooden skeleton models that used to exist of dinosaurs and stuff I made as a kid. Laser cut plastic advantage: no tiny splinters.I want all of these.
Epic! Just bought both the snake and the bat model. Thanks for the heads up.
It didn’t appear to be, but I’m still curious; are there any sort of nubs after you remove the pieces from the plate?
these look gorgeous! I’m getting a few.
Norm posted this link (to his shirt) on an earlier podcast.. 😉

My rattlesnake kit turned up yesterday. Yep, the parts are still just barely held on the sheet by narrow “bridges” joining the cut pieces. I’m actually still trying to work out the best way to cut these at the moment, as the kerf of the laser is actually so fine that it’s difficult to get an x-acto blade through them. Definitely gonna take a file or sandpaper to ’em after removing them, though.
Those (300+, I think) parts are then getting to require TOTAL KNOLLING DISCIPLINE to keep track of.
It’ll be worth the effort, though. Lovely kit.
Use dikes or flush cutters.
