Sideshow Collectibles’ R2-ME2 Custom Droid Project
What happens when you give 90 artists the same blank Star Wars toy and tell them to make it their own? That’s what Sideshow Collectibles did with their R2-ME2 project, which produced these amazing custom toy modifications based off of a sixth-scale R2-D2 astromech. We get up close with these beautiful pieces that take inspiration from every corner of pop culture.

I have to be honest here. There is too much Star Wars on this site lately for my taste.
Kinda figures with a Star Wars convention.
Even if you don’t enjoy it as much as the other content, maybe consider that is may have other value. It’s high quality content that will likely generate additional views and traffic to the site, which in the end means more of the other things you we all like so much.
I will concede that there’s a saturation internet wide, so counting my blessings I can stay here and get the distilled version here. Norm and team do a great job of gearing the content to props and makers mostly which I think fits well here, and its much better produced than most of the vanity youtube channels and pod casters jumping on these topics.
I’m not an apple fan, but look at that content in the same light.
Don’t worry. They’ll be back to posting videos about 3D Printers, VR, and Quadcopters soon enough.. 😉
These R2Me2’s look amazing. I wish I could see them all online. Probably during the auction there will be photos of every single one posted.
I didnt mean that i dont like variety, I was just posting an observation, meant nothing by it.
They content is fine and great. I am a paying member and will continue to be, just did not realize there was a convention they were covering. Meant nothing by it.
Sorry rcath, not intended as a criticism of your post. I
only intended to share consideration for an upside. I think most of us probably
have a few content parts that aren’t up our own alley’s, however I’m constantly
amazed at how much of the content is in my wheelhouse. That for me is a rare
thing, so appreciated.
What !!?!! No Hello Kitty R2-Me2?
