Adam Savage Incognito as a Bear at Comic-Con 2016!
It’s time for Adam’s Incognito walk through San Diego Comic-Con! This year, Adam’s costume is a creature of his own creation–a bear suit that’s more realistic than cartoonish. But he also couldn’t help making it pop-culture related, so he made it inspired by the Leonardo DiCaprio film, The Revenant, complete with a Leo prop!

Such a sweet girl found Adam. She looks really emotional.
“Wow, I can barely see.”
Amazing build. I can imagine this was one of those, “Can I really pull this off? Is this going to work or am I going to have an embarrassing pile of fur – a walking carpet if you will?”
(Underarm gussets! — but then I expect you know.)
awww, the winner was so sweet. but i guess we’d all be flustered if we walked into adam, plus the emotional pay-off of taking the risk to ask a friggin’ bear if he happens to be adam savage.
other than that, looks like adam unleashed his inner baloo. not a bad kind of bear to be.
I was a little skeptical when I first saw this one, since it looked a little too fat and cartoony, but from a distance it looked amazing. Those shots of him walking out of the hotel and then through the crowd were great, and I love how he found the performance.
Great Incognito!
I was the same way upon initial pics I saw of this cosplay costume. I was mildly disappointed since it didn’t look to be up to Adam’s level of quality. But now after watching this video to see in more detail both the cosplay costume and the winner’s reaction when Adam was found definitely changed my opinion of Adam’s handiwork. Well done.
Brian
I see what you mean. I guess most of the designtime went into the posture perhaps?
My mild criticism:
The head seems a little small in relation to the rest?
Overall level of detail?
Would you agree?
Is the hole in the right armpit intentional for airflow? I couldn’t tell if the left was the same.
Some dance moves …
For such a simple costume that’s really wonderful. The dancing part reminded me of “Bear in the Big Blue House”. If you make another head would you add moving mouth and ears?
Can’t wait to see the build video as this type of costume construction could come in really handy for my kids’ theater group.
Love it!
Amazing fursuit! i cant wait to see the build videos, they would help so much with starting my own bear costume albit more cartoony style =P
just hope you make in depth videos about the sewing and head construction!
That’s pretty sweet.
What would be really cool is have Frank make some prosthetics for Adam’s face to make him look not quite like himself. Then go out on the floor as someone cosplaying Adam Savage!
Ok for your own safety wear under armor {or similar brand) sport thermal gear. i live in Texas and under every cosplay i have an inner layer of heat gear keeping me safe. I cant help but be concerned when I see you wearing jeans and a T shirt. Heat stroke is not fun!
lolololol
It’s a great costume!!! But one thing that struck me once I saw it all together is that with a large red t-shirt, it would become a excellent Winnie-the-Pooh costume!
This bears more study
But where are all the leather straps and metal studs?
Why was he wearing jeans under there? Should have worn board shorts or something, anything would have been cooler than jeans.
I love the whimsy of this costume.
Hey! That moves nicely.
what happened to your right armpit? did you rip it? or did you miss a seam?
So this is what he’s been doing since Mythbusters… And I am alright with this…
Adam, do yourself a favor and put your costume in the freezer the night before or you are going to give yourself heat stroke.
A little too cartoony bear, don`t you think?
Where’s the PDF?????
Wow amazing! Nice to watch!
