1. Happy new year, Adam!

   I loved the video of you making that sword in Peter’s shop, and I also decided there and then that I wanted to make one of those linishers for myself. Do you have any specifics you’d be able to share that might help me get started, for example some dimensional sketches or just some notes? Or are you saving the sketches for next years premium poster? 😉

   By the way, that suit of armour is fricking sweet.

2. Adam please make another rest for your grinder with a cutout so that it supports your blade a bit past the belt itself. The one you have can accelerate your workpiece down into your leg.

   (And they would have needed lots of this stuff at that particular time!)

   Just out of curiosity, how far afield are people aware of the what went down in 1066? I’ve met people from a few countries who, upon me telling them where I’m from have immediately said something along the lines of “Oh, where that thing happened in 1066?”. Won’t give away exactly what it is because I’m curious to see who knows it lol.

If that’s a famous quote from something, I’m afraid I’m not aware of it, and trying not to google cheat this, given the previous Norwegian context I think there was something Viking related that happened down in British west country the turn of the ninth century? I honestly couldn’t pinpoint what or where though.

    If it’s from a movie, please enlightnen me though because I’m fascinated by that era!

    What alloy aluminum did you and Peter use?

19. Personally, as a northerner, I’m still Team Harald over Team William!

    For those still looking: the aluminum is, in all likelihood, 7075 (-T6 or -T651); a super light, super strong alloy that includes titanium and is typically used in high-grade aerospace parts, but also popular for prop blades because it machines nicely, rings and shines like steel, and can take a beating if it needs to. A sword-size piece is probably in the $50-100 range though.

23. Adam Savage I hope you see this. you have been a huge inspiration to me for making props and costumes. You are right behind my Father for being my hero. With the tips you provided I made my secant prop ever, a full fallout Power armor suit. I received runner up in Madison 2016 comic con costume contest. I was inspired by some of the common things you always say. “Whats the props story and where did it come from.” also “Make it your own.” So going off those I wrote a short story on my character. I also gave it my own flare. For example the 29 is in honer of my father, It was is firefighter number or his call sign. He unfortunately past away before I made the costume because of leukemia. Anyways thank you so much for all the inspiration a 18 year old kid can get.

    I’ve been making up plans and saving pennies in hopes of building a custom linisher for about two years now. I think this thing looks great! Could we get a closer look at it?

25. Adam, what did you use to blacken the grips on the Strider sword? I’d like to do the same to my UC one.

    Also the pommel and hilt just buff up on a rotary polisher fairly easily I assume.
