I do like that the Razr has a unique look. All the Galaxy Nexus has going for it is that cool curved screen. I toyed with custom ROMS on my crappy Eris, but I’m going to skip them for my Razr. From what I’ve seen the ICS ROMs still need some tweaking anyway. Also, like I said in the post, ANY upgrade to my Eris is a welcome one, even MotoBlur. Hopefully we’ll get ICS in early 2012. I’m a big enough phone nerd to know the apps that offer some of the features that ICS brings to the table (for example, I use a custom Elixir widget to show me currently running apps, and I can dismiss them with a tap), but it will be nice when those features are baked in.

Thanks,

I would still love to see the Tested crew tackle a real project that would take some work and engineering. Something like a Locost 7. But I wish big, so just another big project where Norm’s big talk can pay off… ;P
They couldn’t get the guy with the hammer to shut up for 20 minutes? Or move to another room? This was terrible.
it looks kinda like m5, maybe, possibly working on something important and it wasn’t that bad, could hear them clearly, even if it was his shop/mancave from what I understand adam is an extraordinarily busy man, the fact that he takes time out of his work to do this is fantastic, don’t take it for granted.
Sorry guys I normally love these but the hammering makes it unbearable.
You all are going to hate me for this but I really like the name, Untitled: Adam Savage Project!
Were you guys under the impression we wouldn’t hear hammer guy? Fucking hell
I kind of love the idea of Tested actually making something and/or more C&C videos. Even a quick “This is what this machine in M5 does, and today we’re gonna use it to make…” video.
You know that I’m looking every where for that rub’n buff you mention in other videos and can’t find a place in eastern Canada that holds it nor a store that can ship it to me in a reasonable price range!! Even the guy from Amaco doesn’t reply to my emails anymore… ;,( sniff!
Hammering wasn’t too much of an issue IMO, its a shop, noise is to be expected. =p
And random browsing for materials and tools really is the mother of creativity.
Meh, the hammer didn’t make it difficult to hear them talking, so it wasn’t much of an issue for me. Just had to turn the sound down a bit on the headphones.
And I actually have a bin of old electronics I keep around. I was about to throw out my old Zune when it busted and said to myself “I have no idea how anything in this works yet, but I get the feeling that if I throw this out now, I’m getting rid of parts that would cost me thousands of dollars to order on their own.”
I really enjoy the podcast, but I just can’t deal with the background noise in this episode. I know you guys wanted to get a show out on schedule, but the hammer has made it impossible for me (and, as it appears in the comments, some others) to watch.
Yay tools! Harbor Freight is now my new favorite website. Only because I am a first time home owner and my 90 yr old house is falling apart : (
AS&S rocks! Go Jarvis!
Also, anyone read Zodiac by Neal Stephenson? He has a great section about hardware stores:
http://books.google.com/books?id=rYfyDgYKOCUC&pg=PA64&lpg=PA64&dq=stephenson+zodiac+hardware
Could you guys remove this from the official tested podcast feed?
Off to a good start!
Adam’s assistant is pretty. Please include her in all future videos. >_<
Also, might as well just call it “The Adam Savage Project”.
“Savage Talks” seems like a fitting title.
its true. Even when you’re not “making” you can have trouble asking for things at hardware stores. I was trying to clean a small drain hole in my car that was causing water to leak into the cockpit. I was asking for something I could use to do that. They sold me a kitchen drain snake. it was not what I needed at all. I ended up making my own tool out of a weed whacker blade to clear the clog. An idea I came across just browsing the store on my own.
