Adam Savage Incognito as 2001: A Space Odyssey’s Moonwatcher!
Adam goes incognito at this year’s New York Comic Con as Moonwatcher, the lead ape in 2001: A Space Oyssey! This character is special because the mask was originally designed by make-up artist Stuart Freeborn, who also created Chewbacca’s costume. And in a first for Adam Incognito, he was able to walk the floor and explore the convention without being detected! (Check out the work of Steve Neill, who made this Moonwatcher mask for Adam!)

You looked so much like Nick Cave 😀 (not the face). The hair and suit was so really spot on 😉 Nice that you had some “alone time” for once on a con floor.
Awesome incognito Adam!!! I’m so glad you decided to share your purchases on video as well! You definitely have a thing for those dissections!
Can’t wait for the build video of the mask. So beautiful. 2001… talk about a movie holding up! The effects are still first rate by today’s standard and it came out before Neil and Buzz walked on the moon!. The mask is a great tribute. I’d love to hear Adam talk more about 2001.
anyone want to ballpark what he spent?
Adam. thanks so much for the kind words and the shout outs for SNG Studio!
As for 2001 guys next year is the 50h. I’m planning lots of 2001 builds. Currently I’m doing a studio scale “Star Child” build but that just the tip of the iceberg.
Yeah, they always do pack those Acuvues in a slightly higher PH than your eyes want, don’t they? I’ve made the same whimper many a rushed morning.
