How To Build Star Wars Shadowtrooper Armor! (Part 2)
Earlier this year, we teamed up with effects artist Frank Ippolito to build a Shadow Stormtrooper costume using a new kit from Anovos. We showed you how to use air tools to cut and grind the armor pieces to fit your body. In the second part of our build, we start putting those pieces together to assemble the armor in time for Dragon*Con!

Woop Woop! Awesome video! that test pull looks great! Part 3 sounds like it is going to be AMAZING!
This is a really cool video! Thanks for stressing the adaptability of the kits, I am 6’4″ 230lb and made mine [not Anovos] fit. I have added shims, the belt covers a gap between the ab plate & cod, and a little more undersuit shows through. I do make all of my garrison mates look “a little short for a Stormtrooper” though. Oops.
It can also be built without the tools of a workshop. I had no experience in costuming or prop building, and none of the tools required. Pretty much all I used were a sharp blade, a straight edge, a dremel, glue, lots of sandpaper, and a ton of clamps.
Anyone that wants to be a Stormtrooper can be.
Note: As to 501st membership, with a Shadow Trooper you will be a TX, not a TK.
Can’t wait to see Norm’s build.

Its amazing how Franks whole look turns so bad ass when he puts on the armour. That was made for him
Joey, you look so badass in this armorm I was compelled to register an account just to tell you! I have the Standard trooper armor I got for myself and now I can feel my wallet quivering in fear for my next purchase!
Welcome to Tested, the guy in the suit is Frank, Joey is the camera-man 🙂 Congrats on the armor, I hope you’ll share a photo in the forums when you get it fitted!
My mistake. Joey, I’m sure you look great but my compliments to Frank!
Awesome video guys. Great instruction on how to make an awesome cosplay costume. Looking froward to part 3. Particularly the weathering techneques. Norm are you going for the ‘beat to hell, seen action’ look? And Frank, big guy in black armour, you just don’t mess with that!
Keep up the great work.
He looks truly badass!
Just don’t make a zombified darktrooper,. too scary!! haha
The darktroopers are supposed to be superelites right? Some great weathering potential. Kill marks etc,.
So glad Anovos doesn’t deliver to my country,. would have given them too much money,. There are workarounds but I haven’t bothered,.
