Premium: Norm interviews Matt Reeves and Andy Serkis
So this was an interesting experience. We were invited to the premiere and press junket for the new Dawn of the Planet of the Apes movie, and Norm had the opportunity to interview director Matt Reeves and actor Andy Serkis about the motion capture and filming technology of the film. It was our first time doing one of these quick sit-down interviews, and we tried to pack as much into the allotted four minutes as possible! Read the full text of the interview here.

What a great opportunity! Hope to see you guys get to do more interviews like this.
Great interview and great responses as well.
This was awesome to watch, hope you guys get more of these opportunities later 🙂
Great job, Norm.
I can understand the actors not wanting to answer the same question over and over again at a press junket. But, four minutes really isn’t enough time in a setting like this. They really should give you a few more minutes to ask follow up questions..
Seconded.
Nicely done,
You did an awesome job. I know it’s tough with the time constraints, but this was an excellent and interesting video. Very well done.
Dat camera angle. Seems legit.
Great job
That was great! you did an excellent job with the interview! Hope we get more of these in the future.
Nice. It would be great to see some more technical behind the scenes videos from TV and movie productions (practical and digital effects, camera and editing tech, make-up)….
This is all stuff that doesn’t get too much coverage in entertainment media but the science and tech crowd here on Tested eat right up!
Awesome stuff. They were really speeding through it,. really using all your allotted time to perfection 🙂
Hope to see more and longer interviews. Maybe Norm could also do a talking room?
Tested on a press junket just feels better than those journalists who don´t seem to care.
wow… what an amazing opportunity! great job!
I don’t think it’s not so much just answering the same questions over and over, because they already do that, but more time management for the day. In other interviews I’ve read with the director, he’s sad some of the exact same things. It’s more because they typically sit at one of these junkets for 8 or 10 hours, usually in a hotel or something, and there are a million other people lined up waiting to ask their questions for whatever media outlet they work for.
Great job on this interview and the other segments from this as well. It’s a nice change to get a little more of the technical side of movies besides only in the commentaries. And even then it’s usually only when they run out of other things to talk about.
Loved this! Good job Norm, great questions to ask!
Awesome!
always love more stuff with Andy and what a great opportunity!
