Please use loctite on the frame. Otherwise when moving framework simply will fall apart
Surprised you didn’t hit your fingers with the insta-set. Might have helped with not gluing yourself to everything.
I’m up to issue 16 but i have stopped building. I am not sure if i want to complete it all in one go or month by month. 🙂
Sorry to say that EVERYONE building this kit is looking for some figures to put in. The Star Wars Command army men are too big, and the Star Wars role-playing game 28 mm gaming miniatures are too small. There are a couple R2 and Threepio models for this kit on Shapeways right now (search for ‘deago’ for a whole host of add-ons, more accurate replacement parts, etc.), but that’s it.
The DeAgo Falcon community is hoping that DeAgostini will make scale figures for this as a bonus or purchasable add-on to customer subscriptions.
10 minutes in to this build, I’m so glad I’m not building this model, but I’m glad I get to watch 🙂
Please do a week of peels
I’m going to throw this out there…..we need better quality for premium….just saying, still love you guys and ill still watch regardless.
and Bolts I like to think that I wouldn’t watch this, but I know myself too well. Morbid curiosity would get the best of me. Please guys, do not do a week of peels. For my sake and your own.
I take some perverse glee in the parts I have less trouble with then Will and Norm. It’s rare but happens.
When Norm spills the glue the little “J” piece is visible. Then when he is done cleaning up its gone. Soooo. It was probably attached to whatever he used to clean up.
I think Norm lost the small j-shaped piece in the great super-glue spill.
If a somebody put their feet in a food bowl I would just recycle it. There’s no point in arguing about it.
I use nail polish remover, aka acetone, to remove super-glue from my hands. Please don’t cut/rip skin from your hands.
All of this foot peeling reminds me of how astronaut feet peel from the lack of standing. Also, something just feels wrong about letting a bunch of tiny starving carp eat your dead skin.
Wait, not just one of Adam’s stones, but Tiny Luke was stolen from the Comic Con party, too?!!
What the hell people?! :/
Speaking of which, did Adam ever get the stone back?
I like sandpaper for getting superglue off my fingers
Ahhhh so many tiny parts….
There no way I could do this. It would drive me insane.
“Is this the right hole?”
That’s what he said!
Just finished Month 1 (Issues 1-4) Having a blast! It’s got me into model building and working on a Battlestar Galactica Mark II Viper fighter to practice up and keep busy between shipments. My first time building models since a brief stint as a teenager in the early 2000s.
I’m holding off on frame and hull assembly for a long while. I don’t have the space to really store that part of it unfinished. It’s not like screwing in the frames and hulls will take long. It’s my understanding is that DeAgostini has recommended not attaching the hull panels very tightly yet. ModelSpace is releasing paint guides from the model designer Steve Dymszo. I figure I’ll paint most of the hull at the same time for consistency.
Here’s my cockpit so far! I’ve also drilled out holes for .25mm fiberoptics to add lights to all the control panels besides the bulkhead cockpit wall. I havent attached the fibers just yet.
Great stuff guys, really liking the look of this kit.
Also, this episode was full of so many double entendre one liners!
Week of Peels for sure!
Oh God I can’t watch!
Superglue is NOT always the best choice you know. Testers model glue works perfectly well. Gives you a little time to work but then sets fast enough to keep progress moving. And it doesn’t create a constant air of impending disaster!
When Will grabbed the tip that just caused Norm’s tragic mess, plugged it on his bottle and started squeezing it as hard as he could I about jumped across the room.
Great project though.
lost luke skywalker and adams indiana jones stone at the party? damn, need more security next time.
Oh man. This whole model is going to be covered with a veneer of CA and Will’s finger flesh.
He redeemed himself with “I’m not a big fan of feet on the best of days”. I used to think that “foot fetish” was literally a joke then one day a friend of mine … (eeeew!)
Gotta love Tested!
Wherever they sell superglue they sell “de-bonder”. Get some.
I hear ya. I like the Falcoln build. Don’t care for Lego with friends. Kinda interesting to listen in on the yacking but it’s not what inspires me to sign up.
Lol, they “Threatened” to send you guys the whole lot once they were done?
First world problems and all that 😛
The can threaten to send me the entire run whenever they want! 😀 I’ll even doe a 4k time-laps of the entire build!
Foot Peel!
Such an amazing resource for aspiring and professional makers. I could (and often do) watch these videos for hours each day. You guys are amazing. Absolutely worth the subscription price.
Do the peel! At worst, seeing you enjoying every moment would be worth it even though almost none of us would be interested in how well it works.
DeAgo can’t make any figures for this kit as part of the license agreement from Disney (they also can’t put any of the signatures that are on the hull that exists on the original prop). However, there are now a whole slew of figures available on shapeways… both ANH and ESB versions seated and standing, singly and in whole sets. You can find them all here… https://www.shapeways.com/shops/satyrsmodels
Was this the last post in the series? I just ordered this kit over the weekend and was going to get a premium membership to watch this before taking it on.
How far did they get?
Did they get into any after market upgrades?
