Watch Our Stop-Motion Animation Sequence!
Thanks for joining us this week as Frank, Sean, and I tried our hands at some basic stop-motion animation with 1/6th scale figures and DragonFrame software. Here are the two action sequences we created, along with some time-lapse of our animation. We’ll have Frank and Sean back for more weeks of builds this month and next! Don’t miss an episode by joining the Tested Premium Member community, and thanks for supporting us!

Wilhelm scream 😀
Nice job. Fun to see the whole process in these vids. It would have been nice to see the final sequence with better sound effects (at least when I was working on fan films years ago, these were readily available on TheForce.net) and maybe even rotoscoped lightsaber effects (fairly straight forward to do in After Effects). I know these productions take time and you all are making a lot of content, so I understand and appreciate all of the hard work. Sound design especially adds so much to the emotional impact of animations. Maybe a point to cover in a future video. Thanks guys as always. Loving all of the new content and direction you all are taking.
Love it! Well done guys! I used to teach classes of 7 year olds some very basic stop motion, we would design and build characters, sets and film the stories. Great fun.
AWESOME super cut Norm!
Nice work! Stop motion is what got me into film back in the day, and its what pushed me to go to film school. This brings back some serious memories for me!
You killed luke :O!!!
Real fun, gang. Couldn’t help but notice that the wooden “floor” was slowly moving– but I could not tell if that was intended– it appeared that in another dozen frames it would slip off the support table. And– why no aerial brace for Luke’s head? A puff of red-painted cotton? Still very cool all ’round.
So was that Darth screaming after Luke’s head was chopped off? Maybe they were just sparring and he slipped and, oops!
Is this film canon?
FanTastic! The go-around with sound FX made me laugh out loud… Thanks for that!
