BTW, just to troll a bit, this is not amplified DNA, just extracted or purified… or did you manage to print a thermocycler off camera? because that would interrest me for sure given the price of such equipment [troll – OUT]

why not building a pcr machine to amplify DNA fragments? It is just a 3 step thermocycler. Problem is to get the Taq polymerase and the 5 and 3 end primers specific for particular gene of interest. But I bet you can get those ordered in China somewhere cheap.

So, about those DNA strands.. I wonder if you could use this handy little guy with amateur scientific research or education… how do they look under a low cost 40x – 1000x microscope?
my lab burns through centrifuge’s so fast. They are so expensive. However, the 3d print one would not be substantial enough for our needs.
Not sure if it would be any benefit but you could have the drone motor facing down with two different size wheels and a rubber band or rubber belt between the motor and the centrifuge spindle to offset the speed a bit and to maybe absorb some of the shakiness. If you could take readings of the RPMs at max speed, you could offset the wheel sizes and make them replaceable to have more accurate speeds for whatever the needs may be..
