Not as great a format when you need to use mental power on designing your own creations, it takes away from the interview part.
I find it quite entertaining, but agree with that you might want to find a way to seperate the talking and the building a bit more. I like the banter, but when you try to ask well-formed questions that requires well-formed answers, it gets a bit… forced. I think pauses are fine in the conversation, it would be more enjoyable if you leaned into your format a bit more.
Being Danish, I want to make clear that you are messing with a national treasure in the very best way, but I accept that Lego is now an international venture. The Lego movie wasn’t that big a deal here, it is patently not danish humour and feels very American in its basic idea. Had it been Danish, we would have seen way more swearing, nudity and absurdity.
Also, fun fact: Billund and Lego is almost as far west of Copenhagen as you can get in Denmark. as we are only 320 km across. To go that distance, you have to travel across 2 bridges and drive across Zealand, Funen and parts of Jutland. Even funnier: We have regular flights between Copenhagen and Billund. Please fasten your seatbelt, the coffee service is swift in tailwind conditions
It’s been such a venture for over 50 years. I think since 1966 more Legos have been sold outside of your country than inside (you would know more then I about that). I myself started building in the 1970’s with them – as did most of my friends (in the US). My impression has been that Japan and the US are the biggest fanatics outside of the home country. The Lego concept hits a timeless chord it seems.
It’s strange. I don’t know what is so amazing about them. But something is. I am currently building #42000 as my father’s day present. Glad the Danish didn’t decide to keep it to themselves! Congratz on what might be the overall most popular toy in the world! Erm….I mean hobby….since…you know….I am not allowed to by toys unless they are for the child.
I have not seen the movie, but hope too soon.

I didn’t mean to say that Lego was in any shape or form a danish phenomenon, just that with our country being this small, we don’t have much to feel National Treasur’ied about. Maersk is a big corporation that right-wing Danes feel very proud of, but they are just very good at transporting stuff in huge vessels, very authoritarian and maybe not with the best morals. Their former owner ‘gave’ the Dansih people a huge box of an operahouse just opposite the royal palace, and because no Danish politician is able to say no to Maersk, it now sits as a reminder what money can buy. Not happiness, but the opportunity to build ugly shit right on top of the queen. Even the architect walked before completion.
Well, what about motorcycles? I have been looking for a Nimbus for 25 years.
Anyways, I get what you are saying and I didn’t mean to steal Danish thunder. I am from New Mexico, USA originally. We are so rememberable as a state that half the US can’t remember if we are part of the country. We are famous for balloons, pinion nuts and green chili – lol. Any of us can name a dozen different kinds of green pepper. I think Lego and the Danish have us beat!
So the bit new idea in lego minecraft is ‘you can make what you want’… i feel sooooo old
I like how Carl gave the politician answer to Will’s question (complaint) about the black and dark grey in the instructions. I wanted to yell “Answer the question Carl!!!!”
That said, I love all the “Lego with Friends” and await word of the existing member renewed for the poster info.
