LEGO with Friends: The Excavator, Episode 3

Progress! The team gets into a groove of building, but a strange disturbance on the set throws the concentration into disarray. Can the builders recover from a missing brick in the past? The feeders also overstep their bounds!

  1. Its weird, this is so relaxing to look at and listen to… Now i want to build something like this, but with a 4 year old that aint a good idea. Parts would get stolen and found all over the house 😀

BTW: The player is still annoying as hell, its buffers every 5 or so seconds and thats kinda weird with a 1GBit internet connection.

  2. Remember that in part 1 it turned out that this specific kit isn’t available as a 3D view, so all they have on the computer is a PDF copy of the build instructions.

  3. “Chiral” – You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means. In particular it doesn’t mean that two objects are symmetrical.

Chirality is a property of a single object, not of a pair. An object or shape is “chiral” if it cannot be superposed on its mirror image, i.e. the shape is internally asymmetric in such a way that mirroring it makes it a different shape. Thus a circle is non-chiral, while an “L” shape is.

So, some of the pieces you’ve been calling chiral probably were, but I suspect that others weren’t, because their mirror image was the same as a 180° rotation.

  4. I had similar. I had the quality of the feed drop and had to stop everything. I ran a speed check and found nothing out of the ordinary with my fibre connection.

With what was said and implied the sadness is something has come off its stand and has damaged itself and/or other things in the process. I am really glad that Joy is alright, things can be repaired or replaced, people are far more precious than this. From the drop sound it sounded heavy and solid so i hope it is an easy repair.

  5. I love this. You three make for an extremely entertaining build team, that translate well via video.

Norm, I hope Adam and Simone will be part of the rest of the build.

some constructive feedback: I realize you are probably checking messages or time remaining for the episode but even though I know you have a smart watch on your arm, it instantly gives off the vibe like you need to leave or everyone else is not working fast enough. Just check your phone instead, it would not be half as distracting from the hilarity of this build. 🙂

then again, it made for a good drinking game

  6. Fifteen minutes into episode two was the first F bomb. Four minutes into the third episode, and there are two already. Way to f*cking go.

Loving the series, you kooks. 🙂

I apologise now, as we are communicating via purely intellectual means and if my intent is lost and I come over as an ass I do not mean to be.

You are wrong. A pair of objects with bilateral symmetry are chiral. Take your hands and curl your fingers into a fist and put your thumbs up. You left fingers are curled clockwise and your right hands fingers are curled counter clockwise. In order to match the clock or counterclockwise on both hands you must turn one thumb downwards or touch your little fingers together while doing this. This is chirality and Adam did check with Norm that he was right on this. He is.

Hope you have a good day chap,

    Matthew / Ozziog

  8. *A It dawned on me in the second episode that it was a T-Rex, the first episode it was just oddly disorganized metal jewelry. It’s cool 🙂

  9. They jokingly claim this will be a month long build, but at the rate that tested updates premium content, I can see this build lasting 12 months.

  10. They did it with the UCS Falcon, it took 2 months until we saw the rest of the build. Very frustrating, hopefully won’t be the same this time!

  11. Hey guys, i need some moments of zen with episode 4 5 etc… whats up? Did Norm give up because he was not allowed to build and had to reside to knolling and sorting. Or was the lost part a crucial bit that made you hit a roadblock

  12. They are filming this series with different guests. They shot another session on this yesterday by the looks of social media.

  13. to a lesser extent it’s like Adam is Prof. Lambeau, Simone is Will Hunting, and Norm is the TA. Minus Drama of course

  14. Would really like to see the next episode or two (or three?)… I hope there will not be a giant gap between episodes like the Falcon build

  15. LOL!~ Adam knolled it he’s feeding/finding pieces and assembling lol.. reminds me of some grocery store bullshit… You come in you pick your shit out your ring it up your bag it you pay for it and then get the eff out!! COME ON IM TRYING TO RUN A BUSINESS HERE!!! ahahahaha

  16. WOW! I never knew their microphones were connected via XLR seems annoying to be mic’d up now hehe

  17. Adam, please dont use a knife to separate lego parts. E.g. to remove a pin use an axle and press from other side, to separate two plates use the edge of an brick. Lego part are perfectly designed. You never need other non-lego-tools for help.
