4. they actually sell special dremel-style tools for trimming dog nails. They are lower power then regular dremels so they don’t make as much noise, my dogs hate manual clippers, but they don’t seem to mind the dremel.

5. I can confirm that Donald Duck is also a Norwegian Christmas tradition on public TV. 6. I wished they stuck with the “Simone replies only in Swedish” for longer – would actually be interesting to see how long until she falls back into English..

   And kind of pity Jeremy, he was so looking forward to the builds (at least I assume that is what he was referring to in the VR episode), and now Norm took over ~all of the assembly… But as he said: the bus is so large, lots of people fit under it ;->

8. Sweden celebrates Christmas the 24th, instead of the 25th as alot countries do. The 24th is the MAIN day. It’s the eat to much and get/give Christmas gifts. The 25th is more like an “eat proper dinner with relatives” or with those you didn’t have time to see on the 24th.

   I can idd confirm that Simone is telling the truth about “Kalle Anka”/Donald Duck. It’s a montage with old Disney movies/clips. It’s Robin Hood (the fox one), The bull Ferdinand The Bull (1938), Cinderella, Snowwhite and the 7 dwards, jungle book, the caravan sketch that Simone talks about and a few Christmas themed clips. It last about an hour and the last clip is the “commercial” for something new from Disney.

   Found a clip on the internet with the symbolic Arne Weise. The calming and most popular of the Christmas hosts. He has retired now however.

   Other fun facts about Swedish holiday is that we pretty much eat the same food for Christmas, Easter, Midsummer. The three biggest national holidays.

9. Well NASA is nice but MST3K will never fade! Good for you Jeremy! Chance to be the coolest Dad– I made sure to introduce my son — in order!! — as early as feasible to MST! Gave all sorts of opportunities for societal conversations even if it involved a lot about the Quinn Martin Production house…

10. Maybe it’s me, but can’t you guys spring for a long piece of wood? Home Depot has 4×8 foot sheets of nice finish plywood– a little edging can go a long way. Then brush on some polyurethane. That gap is really bothering me.

    Secondarily, the background shelving (quite nice but distracting) is the same light level as the crew and table. Spotlight the shelves cum artifacts, backlight the crew and put four purpose spots in front of the people.

12. Yup, same thing is shown in Finland, at 7.30 pm. Another TV tradition is Snowman which is British animation from 1980s. Famous from its main theme, Walking in the Air.

    I was wondering when we would hear Simone speaking more Swedish. Even though riktsvenska is harder than finlandsvenska for me as a Finn, I can still keep up what she’s saying.
