I had problems with that movie. It wasn’t really consistent enough for my enjoyment.

It was really fun to watch Watson on Jeopardy last night; excited to listen to this episode. Also, congrats on the pseudo 1-year anniversary 😉
Also, BEETLEJUICE.

Edit: Dough!
Vinny and Brad were discussing Neil Degrasse Tyson today in a quick-look. Seeing as they are both interested in science (Brad Especially), Would there be any chance of getting them on for the Fake Out-Takes science discussion sometime in the future?
What!! But i need my WANG!!
Was waiting for this while being bored making notes in a library.
We’ve gone back in time!!
Awesome!! And I personally prefer just the WAN crew.
EDIT: I meant to say I prefer just the WNG crew.
FWIW Maemo is awesome and I’m 21. The N900 was one of the better smartphones when it came out and it is still holding it’s own with NitDroid. I’m mad that Nokia never supported the OS as much as they should as it could have easily rivaled Android if they had invested in it.
WANcast goes to space!
I don’t know what you’re talking about, Ana. Whenever I’m somewhere high where falling could kill me all I can think about is trying NOT to fall.
I wish Ana’s Eagle Sandwich reaction could be an audio meme. Or at least somebody Tim and Eric the shit out of it.
Great ending. Needed Angry Gary to go off about EP2 though.
the answer to the Neflix question depends on your level of membership. this answer comes from Neflix’s FAQ site:
Your account can have up to six unique authorized devices activated (and associated with it) at any given time, including personal computers and Netflix-ready devices. For example, if you’re on the 1-disc plan, you can have up to six devices associated with your account, but you can only watch one of them at a time. If you’re on the 2-disc plan, you can have up to six devices activated but can only watch two of them at the same time.
I think Ana speaks for the “everyman”, and, uh, woman. While Will and Norm are waxing poetically about Gingerbread and Honeycomb and Ice Cream, Ana is like “what does all this crap even mean?” I’m all for competition like the next capitalist, but this is way too confusing, and I don’t care enough to actually research it because none of it looks interesting. Like Ana said, they all look like little black phones.
As for an interesting disease….
Oh thank God. I have the 3-disc plan. Now I don’t have to go to jail! 😀
I think the correct term is Barthelona.
HTC Desire == Nexus 1 != HTC Incredible
Fact The average WANG is 25% less effective without the G.

It’s actually kind of cold still down here in Florida. Pretty dry too.
And hurricanes don’t start for a couple more months.
Thanks for a great WAN cast and yes no WANG in this cast but the WAN still kicks-ass.
I don’t disagree with the whole companies paying the way of “journalists” thing being a bit shady – but it does go on all the time with the games press. Even Giant Bomb has had trips to England and Korea funded by Activision. I can only imagine how much the big sites like gamespot and IGN get comp’ed. For small sites like this I would be tempted to take whatever is on offer, write what you think anyway and put a disclaimer at the bottom declaring the corporate involvement (like GB do).
Wait, Whiskey Media blocks websites? O.o
For Facebook: spam from people gets crammed up together into a single post, so it won’t flood you with shit.
Wait, did people think those were real imax screens? Wow… I’ve been to them, and it seems like the sound system is a bit better, and certainly louder, but that’s it.
When Will mentioned a “Ringo Bedspread” (which is pretty hilarious), all I could think of in response is a Steve Balmer Bedspread – which is obviously a funny yet god-awful idea. lol
If you want to learn more about synesthesia, blindsight, capgras syndrome, phantom limbs (not the super villain, but still interesting), and much more, check out the work of V.S. Ramachandran. He did a fantastic lecture series for the BBC that can be read or listened to here. Disclaimer: they are long (those 5 were collected into a small book with only minor additions).
My personal favorite is lecture 3 where he attempts to apply neurology to aesthetics and art.
Also, somebody made a pretty cool video that attempts to capture what synesthetes experience (not embedded because I’m locked into IE7 here at work).
Guys, I’m just saying, but there could be another planet rotating on the exact opposite side of the sun. We would never know!
Also a teapot.
I really don’t think you guys were giving enough credit to what Watson does and how incredibly complicated it is. I’m not claiming to be an expert on anything but having spent a fair amount of time doing parsing I can appreciate the complexity involved.
Natural Language Parsing/Processing is an NP-Complete problem, which basically means it’s one of the hardest problems that exist in Computer Science.
I know from the outside that it’s easy to dismiss it as easy, but lets give these guys the credit they deserve for even trying to tackle this problem.
I agree. When you factor in all the different models and all the versions of the OS, it is not only dizying, it’s a moving target. You can’t shop for an Android phone without knowing there is a new delicious-sounding upgrade coming that you probably won’t get if you buy now. I think the naming of the Android versions hurts them in this way. If it was just “2.7 is coming out” that would have way less weight than “Jammy Dodger, Lamington, or Moonpie”.
yay
Whoa, the podcast just kinda ended abruptly
THIS PODCAST IS OVER.
hey we all saw them – you can’t pretend they don’t exist!
I want new podcast to listen to while I play bulletstorm. It’s such a stupid game.
