Podcast - This Is Only a Test
Episode 64 – Insert Timely Reference – 5/4/2011
On this week’s episode, Norm expresses his feelings for the BlackBerry PlayBook, Will discusses the difference between Netflix and Comcast, and Gary wears an offensive T-shirt. All that, plus the future of the desktop PC, the problem with HTPCs, the weird and uncomfortable Hasbro My3D, and another edition of fake outtakes on this week’s episode of This is Only a Test.

Thanks,

oh snap!
I take it today’s Intel news didn’t make it in. Or is that a part of the desktop PC segment (makes sense)?
You should use any blowing hand dryer ever! This is because that you can’t tell when the air filter was changed last. I have read multiple studies showing that the most blow bacteria on your hands.
I vote for tested Porn convention coverage.
It sounds like you guys are just really bad at Piracy.
Cease and Desist for a single TV episode.. yeah, utterly terrible at it.
I keep my desktop on and my thinkpad at all times. If I need an update or something that’s when I restart, and that’s usually when I’m asleep
i turn my PC off every time I go to sleep(or at least I try to do) or when I’m going to be out of the house for then anything that doesn’t take a couple of minutes. The only time I do keep it on for a day or two (altogether) is if it’s doing something important that needs to keep it on.
I’m glad Norm brought up the debacle of the FOXTrax (aka glo-puck) bullshit. I was 15 when they first used it and my whole family laughed at how bad it looked. Definitely this is the best example of poorly implemented sports tech.
Why did Gary’s PC only just now update to Win7 SP1? Is it just never on?
Oh Gary, I feel your pain on your pc restarting to update. Prolly same update for me, I put the pc on render duty for a dvd I was going to turn in for proofing tomorrow. Encore was doing its thing and chugging along. Had a 10 hour render que for all the footage. Went to sleep happy that it was all done and I could show it off tomorrow.
The next morning I sadly woke up to the windows login screen with no dvd burned.
Hey for those towel dryers that only allow you to take one sheet at a time I always just slightly tug on the paper without tearing it, than i motion my hand again and get another sheet dispensed whilst still having the other sheet attached.
Can’t wait to see more regarding Tested’s HTPC build. Looking to build one myself, looking forward to see your recommendations.
Am I the only one who caught Will Smith’s big hint on Tested/Whiskey Media branded zojourishi mug? =O
I finally got to the podcast. Thanks for another great podcast!
If FIFA implemented review by instant replay, then most of Europe would be dead.
Football is serious business.
There was a lot less Osama talk than I was expecting 🙁
I’m having issues getting this episode (via iTunes for Win7 64bit)…. I have all others I have but #64 and when attempting to get the episode, an error reads: There was a problem downloading “Episode 64 – Insert Timely Reference – 5/4/2011”. An unknown error occured (-39).
Please check that the URL is correct and connection to the network is active and try again.
Any ideas???
