  1. Does anyone have a link to the Apple video Norm was talking about? From his description it sounded kinda like a video Microsoft and TellMe put out a few months ago.

  2. Oh, whoops. I thought you were talking about a new video. I vaguely recall seeing that before. Neat stuff. Makes me wish the Courier was released though. :

  3. I am with Will 100% when he said “I live life in a no regrets way”

This is my whole perspective on life. No apologies and no regrets.

  4. Just as a note, Norm’s wrong about the Jurassic Park Blu-ray being cropped. 16×9 is the aspect ratio it was shot in.

  5. During the horse tauntaun story, Norm said something to the effect of “violent video games and movies have not desensitized me to real gore”. That’s exactly how i feel about it too. In theory, there would be an obvious connection there, but in practice, i really haven’t experienced it that way. Seeing real life violence still turns my stomach every time, as it should.

A side note about that horse story on HuffPo though: They cropped the original pictures in such a way that the dead horse was still clearly visible, but not the lady’s naked bits. That’s pretty fucked up too.

  6. Oh really? You mean iOS now actually has features and people need to take responsibility and actually learn to use the shit they buy instead of being drooling imbeciles and picking up gadgets and expecting them to do magic shit right away? “waah it’s too hard. My brain hurts”.. Well maybe you shouldn’t buy it then!

But we all know that will never happen, and the nerds win again. (Or loose if you’re the one that has to help everyone make folders on their iPhones.)

  7. Too much apple love and talk.

EDIT: “You Siri” is also really annoying.

I don’t mind the discussions about actual Apple news but did we really need half an hour talking about which colour 4S Norm bought and the contrasting experiences of which stores had which models in stock? It’s like anti-news.

Also, LastPass DID NOT have a security problem a few months ago. They had an unexpected traffic spike they let people know about that turned out to be nothing. The sensationalist press overblew that story and made it sound like they were hacked. It’s still a 100% secure service and while 1password is good, this is cheaper and does the same thing.

  8. Good show as usual. Thanks guys.

I really didn’t care about Norms choice of iPhone colour, but the nonchalant way in which Will spoiled the surprise was slightly maddening. Well done Gary for calling it out!

  9. So I guess Will was high as fuck recording this.

Gary, the third Song of Ice and Fire book is the best of the series. Don’t drop it now. Books 4 and 5 are quality as well. Kingkiller Chronicles doesn’t even come close.

Glad to hear, I’m nearing the end of the third book and still really enjoying it.

  11. ok… Will needs to stop trying hard to be funny. If I want that in my tech podcast, I’ll listen the the Verge podcasts. Those guys are pros at trying to be funny and laughing at their own jokes. It’s at the point where my favorite parts of the podcast are where Gary or Norm are talking, Will interrupts, and Gary/Norm ignore it and continue talking without missing a beat.

    I’M JUST SAYING

  12. This is the episode where I finally am completely annoyed by Norm not paying any attention to what is happening. Twice Will said stuff that Norm should have responded to, but Norm was too busy playing with his new phone to be working. Annoying.

Love the podcasts though. Gary and Will continue to be all the way awesome.

  13. Yay, after almost six months I’ve caught up, having listened to every podcast all the way back to episode one, and got to listen to this one when it was somewhat current. Good show guys.

  14. Come on norm, plaid has been in for years now ever since the 80’s nostalgia thing died down in like 2008, plaid is almost done, I’m predicting we’ll move to a 50’s style next, or perhaps further embrace the madmen style. Either way plaid will be done before next christmas. I know I sound like I’m talking out of my butt, but I made 50 bucks off a bet about the plaid revival.
