aNd at the guys saying “who needs an unlimited text plan” a lot of people do. I text a HELL of a lot, and most everyone I know does too. Maybe for you guys it’s useless, but I think an unlimited call plan is wayyyyyy more pointless because most people have like 3 other phones they have access to.

Remember they are talking about from how they use their phones and how the circles of people around them use their phones. I’ve felt the same way when they say a lighter weight, lower performance laptop is more important then a high performance laptop that is +8lbs. My work situation is the complete opposite of those requirements. Same with all the programs that you commonly use can just be pinned to the taskbar instead of using the start menu. Which is fine if your volume of daily programs is very low.

Thanks Will for tweeting about Eminent Domain a couple of days ago. I looked it up and bought a copy. It’s such a great game. And one of the best thing about it is that it is so easy to play.
Talking about how awesome Twitter is… My first “Twitter moment” is actually the day I created my account. I asked a question to Ken Levine (Bioshock creator) and he replied within 30 sec… I was like “Holy shit, I’m actually having a real time “conversation” with that dude!”.
It sounds cheezy but it’s the fact that Twitter brings people together. Ten years ago I couldn’t imagine that one day I would have a chance to directly talk to people like that. It still amaze me a bit sometimes.
Neither Voyager is anywhere near the edge of the solar system. The Oort Cloud is almost two light years in diameter which means it will be hundreds of years before it reaches the true edge of our system. It’s still an incredible achievement though and I don’t want to sound like I’m belittling any of NASA’s achievements.
Also, this podcast is definitely more like 9/10 than a 7. Anytime we get a raw Gary reaction to Android phone within the first 25% of the show you know it’s going to be great 🙂
actually gary, I do like sports that much. While I get most of my college and soccer stuff from ESPN 3, certain exclusive games and NBA wise I still need channels like TNT. Sports will always be why i have satellite/cable.

How does Dominion compare to Eminent Domain? I heard that there are a lot of similarities, so if you like one, there’s a big chance you will like the other. The only thing holding me back from trying Dominion is all those expansion packs out there. I heard that the game only gets interesting when combined with expansions. It’s all a bit overwhelming.
If anyone liked Rock Band Blitz, I’d recommend getting Lego Rock Band DS. From what I heard it seems like the exact same style of gameplay.
Well it depends on what you consider the edge of the solar system. If you, like the people in that article, believe our system ends where the solar winds do, the Heliosphere, then yes Voyager 1 is getting close to passing the point sometime in the near to not too distant future. However, if you think that our system ends where the Sun’s gravitational pull does, the Oort Cloud, then no it’s nowhere near the edge. The most conservative estimates for the edge of the Oort Cloud put it at 50,000 AU from the Sun. Given that we are 1 AU from the Sun the Voyagers will have to travel 49,999 AU to reach the edge. Given that 1 AU is 149.60e6 km the distance from the Earth will be 7.499e12 km. Divided by Voyager 1’s current velocity of 17.26 km/s it will take 4.3337e11 seconds or 13732.66 years (4.3337e11/60 seconds/60 minutes/24 hours/365.25 years) to reach the edge of the Oort Cloud, which I’m sure you know is nowhere near the amount of time it’s been traveling. Like I said, it all just depends on where you set the boundaries of our system. I set them at Oort Cloud, which I suppose could be a bit out of spite, but I could also see why others would choose a different place, such as the Heliosphere, to set the edge. I haven’t come across a reliable source for what the accepted edge is since I have seen articles that point to both the Heliosphere and the Oort Cloud so as far as I can tell its a toss up between the two.

I think the apps problem on Windows Phone is amplified by the app crazy mania that as to slowdown at some point. I’m a recent IPhone owner so I have been installing lot’s of apps to decide what I want on the phone but one thing is already clear I don’t want every site that I visit to ask if want to install an app to see their site, just build o good mobile site don’t want 500 apps on my phone one for each site. CPU intensive tasks like games or apps that take advantage of hardware like tracking sure give me an app for that. Services that I use many times sure I want app for that, but also give me a good mobile site that way if I only use that service a few times I don’t want to install the app and then uninstall it. I think the Uber case mentioned is good example I don’t live in a area that as access to Uber but if in a trip I happen to be in a city that has the service when can’t I just go to there mobile site use the service once and be done do I have to install an app and then delete it? If I used the service multiple times then yes install the app if not a site is just fine. Desktop apps declined because of all the great things the web can provide on the browser itself, I hope the smartphone app mania is only temporary and we can continue to rely more on the open web even in mobile platforms.
