Lee here — audio gets infinitely better after around 3 mins in, for anyone put off by the first part!
How long’d it take you?
After seeing some Tweets regarding completely garbled audio on this file, I’ve noticed seems to only happen on iPhones? I’ve tested on two macs, an iPad, Nexus 7 and iPhone. Consistently garbled on the iPhone. Trying to re-encode the file now to see if that makes a difference.
I have no idea what that problem is — apologies for anyone suffering from the issue.
It’s still probably the worst-sounding podcast on the site, and that took a couple of hours. The following ones should sound a lot better.
Also, if anyone has an iPhone and could test the file out that’d be great. Just to make sure I’m no going mad, or if it’s an isolated / firmware issue.
UPDATE: It seems to only happen through the iPhone loudspeaker. Threw in headphones and it worked fine. Absolutely bizarre. Same result on re-encode.
UPDATE 2: Working on a final theory to do with the audio channels. Will update with results.
UPDATE 3: Have emailed with a new file. Issue should be resolved once it’s live on the site. Sorry again to any duders who couldn’t hear it!
