Hrm… currently (6:31am EST) YouTube is claiming the video is private. NOW what will I watch with my morning coffee?!
I believe ‘Asus’ is actually pronounced like ‘Aces.’
I actually looked that up not to long ago and found this article.
Also, it is 8:17am EST and the video is still private.
Norm is truly the Judge Dredd of warranty. Judge Warr.
It’s actually Ay-soos… according to ASUS.
Yeah, I know it’s weird.
The audio works so it is working out well with my morning coffee.
True, that. But Will has a certain impish charm that is entirely visual.
Surprisingly so, I guess its the lack of guests.
After meeting the guys this week I found Will to be taller than I expected, and not nearly as much “kind of an asshole” as he claims to be. Will, Norm and Joey were almost Canadian in their affability.
thanks for coming by the office! sorry we couldn’t be more accommodating as it has been a crazy busy week!
Greatest April Fools joke ever.
A co-worker made up a fake Lexmark how to list/ guide complete with watermark and headline. In the instructions it listed how to use voice command, which our printer did not have. Greatest hilarity ever watching and listen to co- workers yell commands at the office copier.
Epic.
I am enjoying the shorter and more concise podcasts. Could use a touch of Gary to add some spice, but they are still a good listen without.
WUB. And I am a Creative. What are you trying to say Norman?
NOOO! I finally caved and bought a Nexus 7 two weeks ago.
I fucking LOVE the dubstep theme with Will saying “LOOK AT THAT FUCKING SQUIRREL!”. 😀
Me too Will, I played the shit out of Tie Fighter back in the day – with a Logitech flight stick. Loved that game. It was also what got me away from consoles & into PC gaming. All of the Dark Forces were great as well. DF also being the first FPS with Y-axis aiming. Liked Full Throttle a lot too. RIP Lucas Arts.
I still enjoy the podcast but I wish Gary would come back permanently (or at least have guests on). Also, 1 hour is too short! Can’t wait for next week.
RE: Vinyl
Most new vinyl records come with digital download codes these days. The auto rip feature from Amazon is cool ’cause you get the digital download sooner, but doesn’t give you anything you weren’t getting anyway.
Re: frying your laptop with electronics projects
I bought myself a USB isolator to avoid the risk of damaging my laptop when monkeying around with RasPi/Arduino projects. These things are usually pretty expensive (around $300?), but there’s a reasonably inexpensive open hardware project for $48 here: http://www.circuitsathome.com/products-page/usb-interfaces/adum4160-usb-isolator-board-populated
No case included, but it seems to work pretty well. There’s a power jack to inject power from a wall wart.
This is the problem with coming up with all of your good ideas in one meeting 10 years ago and using all of them already. The ONLY Pixar movie that needed a sequel was The Incredibles and that will never happen. Congratulations Pixar, you’re dead to me now.
What is that clicking noise? Is someone fiddling around with a pencil or something?
I think its Will messing with his Knife – which I have to say I find a little disturbing!
Not a Genius, but as a Geek Squad Agent I know that everything that your Warranty or Apple Care covers has to be legally spelled out in the Terms and Conditions for you warranty. For the most part the general things that are not covered are Acts of God, Acts of War, and Full submersion under water, bodly fluids, bugs, other big gross stuff. Have had several units come back to the store in a biohazard box claiming infestation. Some companies will not cover Normal Wear and tear or power surges.
best game from lucas arts is Star Wars rebellion
Fructose is a mild laxative so yes that juice could make you have to go potty.
Here’s why I’m confused.
ProcessExplorer from Sysinternals/TechNet is a better Task Manager and will show you which thread is the parent.
Will seems like a pro pranker! I’ve always wanted to do the mouse trick on someone!
We use these at my work, full isolation but limited to 400mA max current. They are only $42USD vs Will’s $800 motherboard. Link to page.
It’s a real shame what happened to this site and to Will and Norm. They should just put this podcast to bed and move on to their new job which is pandering to Adam’s gigantic ego and laughing at his slightly dull and overly long anecdotes. No wonder Gary is not around any more.
