Wow! I haven’t thought of The Three Investigators books in many, many years.
unrelated to this weeks podcast, but are you planning a political podcast with gary whitta? if yes, when? it would be great listening, especially with recent events about the nsa.
Das Boot is from Wolfgang Petersen, not Emmerich. We have more then one director over here guys…

Same. Those books were amazing.
I LOVE this pod-cast but for a bunch of tech-heads that you are, I would think by now, you could have figured out sound control. Norm is super quiet in this episode almost hard to hear while Will is super loud and overbearing to the point where I kinda want to turn this off. If the levels of sound between the two of you was balanced, this would be a great podcast. On the note of sound, I find some of your episodes so low volume even with our radio turned all the way up I still cant hear, but then the next episode in the playlist will blow my speakers off. This might seem like I am griping, but I figured you guys could figure out how to fix this.
Wow, they got that wrong? Oh man. I’m not going to lie I’m a little miffed.
Argh! The fact that they got Emmerich mixed up with Petersen… Ugh! Erg!
Wait, did they also get Harold Ramis mixed up with …someone else too?
Green lasers might be infrared lasers. You can only see them with NVG. (I have both.)
Just wanted to point out that Pebble didn’t just screw their backers over and start selling via BestBuy first. They’ve kept the backers well informed about how the production of different colors is progressing, and given them the choice to switch their order to a color that’s already available. The people who still haven’t gotten theirs have opted to wait for a specific color.
And as pointed out, BestBuy will only sell the colors that are already in stock, starting with black.
a samsung 840 “non-pro” will be fine for a current ssd.
imacs are pretty much nonportable laptops, as in, they have laptop graphics cards.
so yeah, if you want to play games decently on decent resolutions, you should buy a pc on the side and use the imac as a screen, unless you want 120 hz refresh rate, in which case you’d have to buy a separate monitor for $2-300
Thanks for making my point for me, sort it out guys, can’t be that hard!
Holy shit its painful how little you guys know about what happened in Egypt, those images of protesters were against Morsi’s regime, the lasers were not attempts to take helicopters down. WTF are you guys even talking about. This is embarrassing.
ssshhhhhhhh Will.
Egypt didn’t have a military coup, they had another popular revolt and the military facilitated Morsi’s removal.
iMac’s can’t be used as external monitors FYI, if that’s what you’re suggesting
Listening to the part where they talk about Ryan’s wedding again. I don’t even know… this is heartbreaking.
really? i thought you could plug stuff in via thunderbolt and use it as a display that way.
Ah, forgive me, I actually have no experience with Thunderbolt. I just know it can’t be done through conventional means via HDMI or DVI etc. Is there even support for Thunderbolt on the PC side?
btw – Sarah Chalke isn’t in Year One. I wonder if they met Juno Temple?
Hah! Love the three investigators! Jupiter Jones lives! My other favorites are the Spindrift Island books by Harold Leland Goodwin and especially “Diver’s Down.” Best book about underwater mechanical and test engineering ever.
I was the 1st person to like this on facebook :o.
