  1. It’s kind of funny that the video isn’t there knowing Norm is having a baby and that this whole operation relies on him lol

  2. HAHAHA. OMG. I was in stitches listening to the cat piss story. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE somebody use sound bites from this podcast to make a new intro song for TIOAT.

Whew. Wow. So damn funny. Deep breath.

  3. Will, they didn’t cancel “two of the four” Marvel Netflix series, because there are six of them.

    Daredevil
    Jessica Jones
    Luke Cage
    Iron Fist
    The Punisher
    The Defenders

I know its easy to forget the latter two, but its worth noting that they still have the option of producing episodes in four different series, one of which by definition contains the characters of the cancelled shows. Netflix’ deal with Marvel is for X episodes across all the shows, and I believe they still have several seasons worth of episodes to do on the current deal.

  4. Nobody you know uses Linux on desktop so it must be irrelevant then? Well, I don’t know any lorry drives so those things must be useless and their drivers weirdos. Everybody should just use a wheelbarrow like I do.

  5. Gary is showing a reeeeeeeeeeeeeeealy intense childhood bias when he claims that the old 8-bit games hold up today while the early 3D games do not. Because those are the games he grew up with, he assumes everyone else feels the same nostalgia towards that type of art style. I grew up with the N64 generation of 3D games, and those are the ones I have a draw towards.

There’s some evidence to show that the early N64 games still hold up, probably much more than you’d expect. If you take a look at the twitch stats for Mario 64, the first 3D Mario game, it averages 866 viewers. Mario Odyssey, the most recent 3D Mario game, only averages 573 viewers.

Zelda tells the same story. Breath of the Wild averages 467 viewers while Ocarina of Time has almost three times as many at 1135 viewers.

All this comes down to is what type of game you grew up with, and there are just as many people that grew up in the 90s as grew up in the 80s.

  6. I’ve got four desktops in my house (one in each bedroom) all running Linux. Every developer at work uses Linux for all of our work. I know many people, some technical others not at all, who run Linux. When I interview new devs we get a lot of candidates that are Linux desktop users. It definitely is a thing. I’m rather surprised a technical group like the tm Tested staff doesn’t have a handful of Linux users in their social circle, especially being on the East coast.

  7. I’d love to hear more from A Bunch of Dad’s.
I know it may sound silly to some of the members here, however with Norm’s news and everyone now a little bit older and wiser It would be suiting.

Even without having children (yet) myself, the podcast helped so much when interacting with parents, extended family, and young ones.
The casual tech/pop culture-centric nature of the Tested office and crew made for the most down-to-earth common sense view on parenting without all the guff and nonsensical philosophy that usually surrounds the subject.

  8. New A Bunch of Dads to give Norm Dad-tech advice por favor!

Also, Will and Gary should just have a show where they are the permanent members, and every episode they have a guest that tries vainly to be the host and keep the show on track. Would be hilarious.
