Cutting it Close – Still Untitled: The Adam Savage Project – 9/24/19
This week, we discuss some of our favorite baseball movies and why we love the genre as non-sports fans. Plus, a long discussion about interview techniques and memorable interviews, and a few tales of close calls when it comes to making flights. We cap things off with more love for The Boys!

“Beautiful and toothless.”
Will, I’m not sure what you meant by that. – Loyd from Tennessee.
Randall Munroe was interviewed on Science Friday on 9/6… https://www.sciencefriday.com/segments/how-to-book-xkcd-randall-munroe/
It’s a thing that the morning DJ on the rock station used to say when I was a kid in Bristol. “We’re broadcasting live from beautiful and toothless Gray Station Tennessee.”
HAHA. OK, I didn’t know that. I was about to get insulted. 🙂
I just finished Randall’s new book, and agree 100% on the excellence of the Hadfield section. I also saw that he’d visited Simone’s shop, which is awesome 🙂
Mr. Savage, over the years you have brought much joy into my world. You’ve helped lift me from some deep pits, and encouraged me to get out and TRY. For which, i am ever thankful. But… Like an idiot, after hearing the description of the Gene Simmons interview, i just “had” to go find it. And I’m really not sure i can forgive you bringing it to my attention. Yes, when i was a child, i had to check all four burners on the stove to make sure all of them were, indeed, hot. Ye gods and little fishes, that was just gut wrenching. I knew the man was an idiot, but i never knew the depths from which he slithered. The cringe element is unworldly. G.G. Allen never made my skin crawl like that. Well, it isn’t your fault he exists, and i still really like, and admire, the work you and your crew do. Yeeesh… I just wish i could deep scrub the part of my brain that holds that interview, clean. Now. On with the podcast!
