  1. Yeah, there is something off with the audio. The transitions from the Phone interview from Faris and Schmidt’s office is weird. Audio levels maybe? Not like you can go back and re-record though. Maybe this was the best that they could salvage. Great feature otherwise.

  2. The first time you got to a video interview the audio ist just noise. Maybe the phases are tte wrong way around. Fix it quickly as it destroys this great feature. I watching in on my phone on the browser. Sorry!

  3. Ah, yes, i should’ve clarified. The audio for the STUDIO interviews is missing when played on the iPhone. It sounds like a pocket dial. ONLY the phone interview and Wes/Norm bits works. But on a regular computer everything sounds fine.

  4. This is my very first post on Tested…What a fantastic story! I actually worked for the prop-shop that subcontracted a lot of the armor for that show, I still have a General Kael helmet in my private collection, I’m pretty sure I have some Madmartigan stuff somewhere too. After all of these years I had never even known a lot of the facts that have been shared in this article, but I may be able to add a few tidbits; the late Frank Krenz (costume designer) was very fond of purple, hence General Kael and several other costumes from the Willow segment have strange, purplish elements. Also, if memory serves, Kenneth Feld also produced quite a few ice shows. I recall going on a touch-up call to one of the ice shows and seeing a bunch of clown/stunt performers wearing elements of silver-spraypainted stormtrooper armor in their elaborate costumes. And finally, I can’t verify it, but I believe a good portion of the Super-Live stormtrooper armor (all molded off of ROTJ stunt armor) found it’s way to Disney Worlds Star Wars area. This armor eventually found it’s way back into my hands for reference when I was assigned the task of remaking the Disney World Stormtrooper and Vader costumes. That armor took a strange, cyclical journey over the years!

  5. that’s so awesome! thanks for sharing your insight, and glad this story brought back some (hopefully fond) memories

  6. Yes, very fond memories, I was fairly new into the industry at the time but I remember those days, good times, good people. My wife still works for the prop studio that created the armor. I’m amused by the mention of Tait Towers in the article too. The vacuum-forming machine in my studio was once owned by them. Man, it’s a small world. Thank you for the great website and the great show!

  7. Here’s my General Kael helmet from the show (well, actually a duplicate I made from the same molds at the time). This costume is not accurate to the Super-Live-Adventure. I made this armor and costume to be more accurate to the film instead. After reading this article and watching the video, I dug out some photographs of the costumes and armor we made from my archives. I’ll post them over the next few days.

  8. This is the Kael helmet with the silly theatrical decor for the live show. The film-version had horsehair tails in place of the bright brown streamers.

  9. As promised, and long overdue, here’s some of the behind-the-scenes photo’s of the costumes from the Willow segment.
