The Force Awakens Stormtrooper Armor by Anovos

We were surprised and delighted to find that Stormtroopers from the new Star Wars film attended Celebration Anaheim in force! Anovos, makers of officially licensed sci-fi costumes and armor, worked with Lucasfilm to equip members of the 501st legion with the new suits. We get up close with these replicas and learn how they differ from both The Force Awakens’ filming costumes and the classic trilogy Stormtrooper armor.

  1. That helmet design is so awesome! It’s not noticeable in this video but in some other shots you can see the rubber seals popping out of the white armor parts though, a bit of a shame.

What determines the price difference between this one and the original one though..? This fully completed is being estimated here on 2500-3000 while the original one post 4th May will be 1600. Is it merely the fact that this is “the new one”?

  2. It really isn’t that great. It is not truly accurate unless they get the insides right. The miniature Riddell helmets got it right. I viewed the original Darth Vader and Stormtrooper helmets at the Smithsonian exhibit.

  3. There is a post on Jedi News by 501st member Clint Randall, explaining the process and showing build pictures of the Force Awakens armor they showed at Celebration.

The 501st members who were asked to help debut the armor ordered kits through Anovos which they finished themselves. Build reports are always fun 🙂

  4. The new helmets of the stormtroopers just say one thing to me: “Ducktales, woohoo!”
They just look like a duckbill to me, and I can’t shake that image from my brain. This makes seeing a new age stormtrooper hilarious, but I’m not able to take them very serious.

Thanks for that link, really enjoyed reading that! I didn’t realize that ‘kit form’ is a lot like a plastic model kit, w gluing and painting included, really cool.

  6. Please take down these Anovos videos. Turns out the company is a scam, their BBB number is a Voip and theyare ghosting on preorders.
