  1. I don’t know if you want to see it taken apart…

I chuckled when she said that – of course Adam would like to see more of the construction (me as well)

That’s always the most fascinating thing about it 🙂

  2. Between Darrell and Melissa I love what Tested has been highlighting. Keep bringing these amazing makers on screen.

  3. Breathtaking work. I’m reminded of the scene in A Knight’s Tale where Sir Ulric comes out in the new armour and everyone laughs, but it’s so light he can hop on a horse without a crane. Melissa’s work seems just as revolutionary as that – simplified while maintaining integrity.

I really look forward to the collaboration too. More is good!

  4. Wow! To create a 3D design is one thing… to have it work so well and looks so impressive is another level altogether.

    Bravo!

  5. I don’t believe she does in the video, however I was curious as well, I found on her website ( http://lumecluster.com/making-of-sovereign-armor/ ) when discussing some other armor, it seems like she uses ShapeWays and has them print in “Elasto Plastic” which appears to be printing using a nylon sintering process (SLS with powdered nylon), which means it’s out of reach for most people for home 3d printers.

  6. she used to, but from what she has told me it has been a while since she printed at shapeways.. this was all printed at home. form2 and taz.
