  1. As a current mid-2013 MacBook Air user I’m curious to see if the Razer Stealth + Core + GTX 970 is a reasonable route to go this fall for VR. It’s either something like that or keep the Air as my day to day work laptop and get a dedicated PC for VR. Decisions, decisions…

  2. Make sure that you get a confirmation from Oculus or HTC (depending on your HMD) that this works. Laptops with integrated and dedicated GPUs already have issues since performance is not the only requirement. There are maybe additional delays or driver issues with this external GPU setup which could make it useless for VR.

  3. I really like the idea of this because I move frequently and it would be nice not to have to lug my PC to a new apartment every 6 months. But they’re asking for $500 dollars for what amounts to a miniature case with one 5th of a motherboard and a PSU. It doesn’t even come with a card so you have to spend however much more on that as well.

It’s a really clever idea and it looks pretty sweet, but that price is just out of the question.

  4. Definitely will. Not planning to make a purchase until this fall or next year when Oculus, HTC and Sony have all launched and folks have had time enough time with each for real reviews. Unless Bungie announces that they’re going to make Destiny 2 a VR exclusive with Sony…
