We’re at DesignerCon, an annual gathering of graphic designers, toymakers, scultptors, and collectors celebrating original art and craft. It’s a place for Norm and Frank to geek out over art and meet some of their favorite artists they follow online. We meet up with Melita Curphy (aka Miss Monster), who sculpts beautiful creatures and masks in her own unique techno-organic style.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE her stuff. Been following her on DeviantArt and now on Instagram. She has such a wonderful style. She nails that “alien but familiar” kind of aesthetic perfectly.

I IMMEDIATELY went to her site to buy one of the Anubot kits and they were already sold out. I’m a little heartbroken. I really loved the look and planned some techno dreds like hers had using rubber tubing and different wire and cable ends. Man, it was so cool that it “talked” with you because of the fit under the chin.

The Zeiram animé is considered a masterpiece, but the live action movies seem pretty lame. So I guess she was referring to the animated version.
