Adam Savage’s One Day Builds: Workshop Office Door!
Adam gives a tour of his personal office inside his workshop in this One Day Build project to build a custom window into his office door. It’s a shop improvement project that breathes new life into this aged door that’s had all manner of stuff nailed to it over the years. It’s also a chance for Adam to test a new tool he’s never used before: an oscillating multitool!

To paraphrase Apocalypse Now: “I love the smell of fresh-cut cast acrylic in the morning (or day/evening/night). … It smells like victory.”
Very cool the see the Hellboy BPRD, Bureau for Paranormal Research and Defense, logo that I cut for Adam with my CNC router get a (very) permanent place of honor on his office door!
The orthopods use these types of oscillating saws all the time for joint replacement surgery (generally with saw guides: block of metal with a slit in it). Let it rip full tilt before making contact then it doesn’t shake as much.
two things, one snarky (sorry) one at tip to maybe make up for the snarky?
tip: when doing a patch in drywall, or a dutchman (which the wood patch is) cut the patch first, then use that to draw out what needs to be cut out. Much easier than trying to make a patch for a random hole.
snark, and I am sorry for this, but the BPRD has a “this end up” arrow on it… just sayin’ (too much?)
Someone please introduce Adam to silicone glue brushes. Just peel the old glue off and keep using it; they’re a godsend. Landfills probably have enough disposable acid brushes in them already.
I sure hope that logo doesn’t fall off, didn’t seem like you put very many nails in it haha 😉
Btw, what happened at 32:32? Was like the staple gun randomly went off, but you didn’t flinch at all!
Brpd logo is sideways though isnt it?
Arts yeah that sucker is not coming off 🙂
Yeah it’s sideways but that’s okay. Great to know Adam is going to see it every day!
Someday, he’s going to have to go to the store to buy more “22 gauge nails” and realize that there is no such thing.
