  2. The term “man cave” isn’t sexist or discrimantory. It’s just fucking dumb sounding same way word bro is. I don’t particularly mind it but at the same time I can see that some people might have a problem with it.

  3. Show name suggestions

    – Adam Gets Tested!

    – A.Savage.Cast

    – MythTesters /MythTested

    – 3 Men 1 (Man) Cave

  4. I need this in audio form. Cave of the Savage would be a great short addition to the podcast page

  5. This was great. Really nice to see Adam producing a bunch of content for the site at the moment, this is exactly what I was expecting with the new site. Keep it up guys!

  6. The reason why I don’t like the term “man cave” is because it, if you think about it, is a compromise. If you don’t want my game consoles, tools, pool tables, need-to-keep-stuff, Rasputin gloves in the living room, fine, I just move it into this small extra room. And then that’s sarcastically called a “man cave”? Every home need one of these rooms, and they should be used by every family member!

Edit: “Workmanlike Quality”… take that phrase back to glory and make it your podcast name 🙂

  7. It does an element of sexism in that it perpetuates gender stereotypes, i.e., that men have workshops and women don’t, and leads to a situation where we need a different word for the same type of space when it belongs to a woman. Granted it’s pretty mild sexism, but at the same time, it seems kind of needless when we could just call them shops.

  8. how about “Test the Myth”? too simple?

“Taste the Myth” with reference to Norm’s licking

  9. heres a couple ideas for names:

    – APE podcast (Adams Possibility Engine)

    – Magisters Mythos podcast (masters of myths in latin)

    – savagecast

  10. My suggestions for a name:

    • How The Savage Is Made
    • Savage Planet (as a nod to La Planète Sauvage AKA Fantastic Planet)
  11. Any possibility on longer episodes? I really like the banter. Obviously not TIOAT long but I enjoy seeing this side of Adam, it is pretty interesting.

  12. I kinda call bullshit on Adam saying his workshop doesn’t serve as a way to get away from his family. It has to, to some extent. Everyone needs a space to get away from life. My mom has a room in her house where she does all her craft work, knitting, crocheting, sewing, all that kind of stuff. Although im sure she doesn’t think of it as a place to get away. It is though, somewhere she could indulge in her hobbies and interests in solitude without the bothers of the outside world.

Is having a “Man Cave” any different than a gaming enthusiast who has a lot of money having a room dedicated to arcade games? Although there is an element of escaping the wife or whatever, i dont think thats the point of having a “man cave”. To me the point of it was just to have a room where other people have no say in what is there. Like that leg lamp from A Christmas Story. If the ‘Old Man’ from a christmas story had a man cave, he could put the leg lamp in there without worrying about his wife complaining that she found it tasteless. Or as an example, there was a man on the local news here in the greater Pittsburgh area, who bought seats from the old Civic Arena in Pittsburgh, where the penguins used to play, when the building got torn down. You cant put those seats in a living room or den. But they are perfect for a “Sports themed” or “Hockey themed” room. something a lot of people would refer to as a “man cave”
