Sarah Paulson is in Oceans 8, not Sarah Polley.
I’m pretty sure they chose the number 8 so they can have a 9 and 10 which won’t encroach on the original Ocean’s 11.
The discussion in the early part of this podcast reminded me of a question that I had when Mythbusters was wrapping up. Did the Smithsonian obtain anything from the Blueprint Room?
I’m with Norm on the research of every movie – I just bought the book ‘Pale Fire’ by Vladimir Nabokov in my deep dive of Bladerunner 2049.
Adam – “I’m out of room for helmets”, that is a very unique problem to have.
Loved Collapsing Empire. Can’t wait for the rest of the series.
Norm,
An even deeper cut. Titus was great playing a recurring character in Deadwood.
Just gonna put it out there. I enjoy the hell out of The Accountant. Far from the worst film ever made.
If anyone has the link to the video Adam mentioned about the comparison between kung fu and wushu movies, that would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
I enjoyed Jack Ryan on Prime, surprised to hear Will dismissed it so easily. I also disagree that Jack Ryan is a Mary Sue (was not familiar with that term though so thanks for the education) as he did face hardships (physical pain of helo crash, mental anguish of causing it), Ryan & Grier butt heads from the beginnning and while he is talented it’s not outlandishly so. There are star athletes who are valedictorian in real life so a Marine-PhD in Economics is a high acheiver but believable IMO. I figure a Marine who saw combat and then went into the CIA (and was presumable trained more… I assume analysts get weapons & fighting training but that could be a faulty assumption) would be able to handle himself in a fight.
But I found the movie Paycheck entertaining & an interesting premise, so maybe my tastes just suck 🙂
