Project Egress – Still Untitled: The Adam Savage Project – 7/16/19
We record a few days early as Adam and team are in Washington DC this week for the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing! Jen Schachter joins us to talk about the conception and organization of Project Egress, how the pieces are coming together, and some interesting things learned in the planning of this build. We can’t wait to see it come together on the 18th!

Sorry to disappoint, but I don’t think my cosplay will be up to Comic-con snuff. Still going to try to pull off two costumes!
Where did Adam say the exhibit of some of his space suits was going to be? The San Francisco Museum of Modern Art? I’m going to be in San Francisco with my wife and 1 year old son and we are looking for ideas of where to go.
yes, SFMOMA, starting this week! the exhibit is called “Far Out”
Is there going to be a live stream of the build for #projectegress ?
It was mentioned but I didn’t see a link…
Smithsonian had said they’d live stream, but we’re not 100% sure. We’ll at least stream some of it on Tested social, though!
The Iron Man suit, at least, should make an SDCC appearance!

Here is a link to the live stream, no audio though: https://airandspace.si.edu/events/project-egress-build
The book “Angle of Attack: Harrison Storms and the Race to the Moon” by Mike Grey tells in detail the story of the Apollo hatch redesign among other things. If you live technical sotries about developement and what it takes this is a fantastic read.
