Hi! Every time you talk about San Francisco I’ve been meaning to thank you guys. I’m from Sweden, when travelling was a thing me and my fiancee spent some time in San Francisco a couple of years back. We had a very succesfull Still Untitled-round trip. We had cold brew at Ritual Coffee, attended a lecture at the Stanley Kubrick exhibition, checked out the Strandbeests at the Exploratorium, had lunch at Simones recommended Vinyl Coffee, mission style burritos at Papalote, and an amazing sushi dinner at Shizen. That wouldn’t have happened without you, thank you! And you are correct, the Alcatraz tour is great.

Interstate Plastics in Sacramento sells all sort of plastics, and can cut to size. Much cheaper than Tap Plastics in the Bay Area. They have an extensive off-cut area where you can buy various types of plastics by the pound, including sheets, rods, and tubes. They will ship to you, but it’s a 90 minute drive from SF, and while you are in the area, you can visit the new location of R/C Country Hobbies (a very large hobby store with a bunch of cool stuff that I’m sure you will like). I was there yesterday and they are open for business.
If you have never been there, Viking Hobby is a small plastic model shop stacked to the ceiling with stuff, including a lot of old out of print items (I started going there around 1980). They have been closed due to the pandemic, but hopefully will re-open soon – I would call to make sure they are open. .
Hi Norm, Adam was talking about missing thick sheets of insulation foam for a project he is working on. If you want to source sheets I would recommend contacting some of the crafting Games Masters like XPS insulation foam is his bread and butter and he uses thick slabs cut down on a Proxxon hot wire cutter to make miniature terrain and buildings for D&D.
