Comfort Movies During Lockdown – The Adam Savage Project – 10/27/20
Joey joins us this week to break down a scene in the original Alien as we talk about favorite movies that we keep revisiting and watching for comfort while working from home. These include movies we’ve watched with our kids as well as classics that let us just hang out with our favorite on-screen characters. Plus, we talk about the West Wing reunion on HBO Max and what production is like for crews filming today. What movies and TV shows have you been going back to during lockdown over the past year? And don’t forget to vote!

For some reason, Twister became my comfort movie. I don’t know why, I was afraid of storms as a kid. I’m sure the shiny red Ram truck had my attention as a kid. Now I like it more for the soundtrack, dialog, and effects. That’s definitely the movie I’ve watched the most.
Anyone else find it ironic that the camera guru has the worst webcam quality/setup?
Have you never heard the saying about the cobbler’s kids always having the worst shoes?
Growing up, my dad was a chef, but he never cooked at home. He left his work at work, can’t blame people for that :p

I noticed early on in the pandemic that I was getting my drama from the news, and no longer had the emotional fortitude to delve into any new media. No new tv-shows, no new movies. I wanted only to rewatch simple stories where I knew the good guys win at the end.
Consequently, I have rewatched all the Marvel movies, I have rewatched all of the Lord of the Rings, hell I even rewatched the Hobbit (seeing the third one for the second time ever). I also went through all of Mission Impossible (speaking of movies that have dialed shit up to eleven), Oceans series, Jason Bourne series, John Wick, Jack Reacher etc.
I did watch a handful of random classics as well. But the only two movies I have watched since March that I hadn’t seen previously have been Knives Out and live action Mulan.
