This show had absolutely *no right* to be as good as it was. It has an absurd one-note premise and seemingly cardboard cutout characters. But holy cow did they pull a fast one on us. It was wonderful at every turn. None of the characters were who we expected (or even wanted) them to be. It is wonder of story telling and acting.
Also. holy crap.. Hannah Waddingham can *sing*!
Did you guys watch “Raised By Wolves”? I don’t remember hearing a discussion. It is kinda mind blowing. Just the theme song grabs my full attention. And Ridley Scott was involved. It is on HBO Max, so maybe that is why? I’ve to hear a discussion if you get to it.
My favorite thing is that they build up Ted to be near perfect person. Then they get to the point where they need to humanize him. And so many shows trip here and make their likable characters do terrible out of character things that kinda ruin the show. But in Ted Lasso they show he is not perfect he makes questionable choices like we all do but they are not the kinda choices that ruin the character they had built. They just make you care for him more and like him more.
