  1. I helped keep the average price of an Avengers ticket down by going to the 2pm Sunday showing at the Movies 10 in Delaware which was one of the few showings that wasn’t in 3D. Only cost $5.75 per ticket.

  2. Curious…. since when were new Blu-rays (other than anime) $30 still? Haven’t they at least been sold mostly $20 for awhile now?

  3. Man I thought my soundcard was melting. I don’t think it was there on the live stream on justin.tv. But it was always above 11khz on the spectrogram in my media player, so maybe Justin cuts frequencies above 8khz or 10khz? It happened a lot later in the podcast, not just at the 1h 50m mark.

BTW, the dubstep seems like it was made for the spectrogram.

Is there a current RSS link/feed for the podcast?

The old one at http://mdvip-tested.md-staging.com/podcast-xml/ still works for me.

  4. Regarding the podcast at home. Chloe barking is well…not that enjoyable and that screeching of what I assume is the screen door is driving me paranoid.

  5. 30-35 dollars for a Blu-ray on launch? Who pays that? Most places charge 15, 25 at the very most for new releases. Usually the price is 19.99, except for Disney discs which are around 30, but most have coupons up to like 8 dollars off when they come out.

  6. I’ll sometimes have hot dogs/burgers completely plain. Typically I’ll go with a slew of toppings, but there are definitely times where I just want it without all the extras.

Also, thanks to Fake Outtakes, now I want a hot dog.

  7. Norm has a really interesting thought process when thinking about how to make things interesting for other people. For example in this episode, the rotating LEGO models idea. I really like that.

  8. Let me point out that the weekly discussions on largely US-specific media streaming platforms are not only tired, but also nearly useless to us non-US folks. Netflix this, Hulu that, HBO whatever, it all doesn’t matter and i don’t care.

The majority of your audience is likely from the US, so i get why that stuff has its place on the show. Just wanted to voice my opinion.

  9. The Star Trek cast was not in San Francisco they were in my town, Livermore. They were at the Dublin Hooters watching the fight then filming at the Lawrence Livermore Lab for a while. I got to say hi to Zachary and Benedict Cumberbatch was taking pictures with a few people. It was all very cool.

  10. Any way we can get a download link in the description? That’d make it a lot easier for us folks not using iTunes, etc.

I don’t pay for gold and I couldn’t be happier.

If you own a PS3 and a PC I see no reason to pay for gold.

I don’t really play online to be honest and if I do I’ll play on PC or PS3.

    Huh, WEIRD. *facepalm*

I used everything Gold had to offer when I had the money to buy games/pay for Live/ didn’t have PC, and was happy to pay for it. I just migrated away from the platform because my friends are all PC gamers now.

    I CAN EDIT NOW? :O

When I open the podcast feed in a chrome tab, my computer makes an annoying ringing sound. So that’s weird.

  11. Will heard you say in this episode that the transformer is not a good choice when discussing post PC options. Previous to this past week I would have been in total agreement with you, however I purchased the 32 gig Transformer PAD this past week just to mess around with Android and I have to admit it is really sweet. The keyboard is a great accessory and completely integrates with the tablet. I have been kind of treading water to see what phone / tablet combination I would be choosing over the next couple of months as the newest Apple and hopefully win 8 tablets finally begin to get released, I mean Android was not even on my radar screen, but boy has that all changed. This little machine performs so well that I have put my 64 gig iPad up for sale today, something I NEVER thought I would do. To be perfectly honest, I was waiting to see how the Win 8 tablets look (I am currently using an wp7 device) , but after this last week I cannot see how Windows fits into my life in any way on a forwarding going basis. It just took them 2 long and I have migrated everything I do off that platform. The only reason I would ever consider a windows PC would be cost, and even then, I’ve moved on. BTW I use an iMac as my desktop and I cannot see that changing anytime soon.

So bottom line, surprisingly this transformer does everything I possibly need, Sure i took a while to weed through the apps to find just the right ones but my needs are minimal. Basic Office automation of which Android has a number of great solutions, all integrating Dropbox, Google Drive, Sugar Sync and Box.net, a couple of great podcast and rss readers, solid email apps, Flash access to Amazon.com for streaming my Prime Videos (works really well). And BEST OF ALL – A REAL File System. So out with the old and in with the new, surprisingly ICS has come a long way, stability seems to be a non-issue at least at this point. Will be interested in seeing what IOS 6 looks like but if its the same old thing I think I see a chink in the Apple Armour. Just my thoughts.

  12. Ah, great, thanks! It’s not a hassle at the moment, just have to go to the first comments, but still it’d be a nice luxury 🙂
