From the movie, with the woman standing on the glass that is slowly giving way, the glass is actually reinforced glass. It has what is effectively chicken wire between the laminations to give it some extra umph.
This is the crap you remember from all the way back in tenth or eleventh grade when they made you have required reading. Why I remember this and not something actually useful (like Algebra), I’ll never understand.

Reportedly, Netflix is paying Comcast less than it was paying Cogent. In other words, Netflix costs have gone down by dealing with Comcast directly rather than going through Cogent.

The North American and more specifically, the US market, are not WhatsApp’s target demographic.
Until a year ago, I had never heard of it but all of my friends in Brazil use it and it was a good way to keep in touch since I live in the US.
Brazil and many other developing countries have mobile services that are significantly more expensive than the US and any app that offers an alternative to SMS or MMS fees is widely used. The same goes for alternative VOIP services like Skype and Viber.
When upgrading your home heating solution, did you look at heat-pumps at all? And if you did, what tipped the scale in favor of a traditional furnace?

The heart rate monitor on the S5 sounds great to me, but I’m waiting for the Note 4 or some other manufacturer to figure out how to make a great 5.7in+ phone. For phones that size the Note is in a class of its own.
As for the fingerprint sensor on the S5, I have a feeling that will be heavily tied to Knox, so if I were to root and ROM the phone I would expect that to be non-functioning. Either way I couldn’t care less about fingerprint scanners in phones.
Also the Gear 2, Gear 2 Neo, and Gear Fit (not galaxy branded anymore), look much more compelling than the original the Gear, and I could honestly see myself getting the Fit because of the heart rate sensor
There is already a root/play store install method for the Nokia X, but that probably came out after this recorded.
I still love playing Mario Kart online with the Wii, that’s going to be missed, but it is what it is.
That sounds a little comical from my point of view. Heat pups are all the rage over here in Finland, and I’m willing to bet there’s a whole lot less use for the cooling function in our climate.
Although cooling is a nice bonus, and I’m sure a few warmer than usual summers lately have been boosting sales here, the main selling point is still their energy efficiency and being able to avoid fossil fuels.
I’ve also seen some pretty novel solutions for positioning the exchange unit when the space is limited. Most people are able to find the 2′ x 2.5′ space required on their wall, I’ve even seen them on the balconies of apartment buildings, but I’ve read some people have installed them underneath their house, inside their ventilated concrete foundations. This way the pump can run with high efficiency even in the winter, and take use of ground heat without running lines below the ground.
But it’s obvious one has to make compromises when installing a new heating solution for an older house. Limited space and possibly being able to reuse parts of the old system are usually the determining factors. (Not to mention your budget.)
I beg to differ about running/exercising with a 5″ smartphone…just because you can feel it’s there hardly makes it “too heavy”. Man up! Describing such an action as moronic certainly seems a bit harsh.
I actually put it in a purse (like a money belt) with a strap. No problem at all. I think they meant putting it on one´s arm.
Also I don´t get why they did not mention the Galaxy fit. That has a big and curved screen!

Thanks for the insight! I really didn’t expect that. I’ve been under the impression that since California has a reputation of being an environmentally conscious state, it would support the most environmentally friendly alternatives, and thus renewable energy sources would have the advantage.
This conversation made me do some more research on the subject. I’ve always just assumed that California is big on renewable energy, mainly from solar farms (and it seems progress is being made). But as it is, it would seem that the majority of your power does indeed come from oil.
And all this time I’ve been assuming it’s us (Finns) that are lagging behind when it comes to cutting our dependance on fossil fuels.
I guess I’m nitpicking but Will calling it Galaxy Gear 2 and Norm wanting a smartwatch that doesn’t look like a watch but not mentioning the Gear Fit… Yeah, they don’t care about Samsung. That’s fair, I don’t either really. I do think the Gear Fit is the most exciting smartwatch so far (not saying much), but I would never buy something that I can only use with Samsung phones.
Individual peering points were never really symmetric in bandwidth usage; the idea is that actually it saves *internal* bandwidth (that is, bandwidth internal to the provider) to peer at major interchanges because it means they can get traffic off their network (and thus not need such large internal interconnects as they would otherwise) as soon as possible. It’s such that people like Netflix and Google, that drive all the traffic, often don’t pay for their bandwidth at all – because it’s cheaper for a big ISP to GIVE them bandwidth (because of aforementioned savings in internal network buildout).
Note that this is how things were about 15 years ago, the last time I ran a multihomed ISP.
NIMBYism seems to be the largest limiting factor for sustainable energy production in most places. The permit process for wind farms in Finland can take up to six years since there’s a possibility for complaints and appeals in every step in the process, and there’s always someone willing to use every single one of them.
