  1. There was mention during the podcast that the stream wasn’t getting audio, so Will (or someone else) would have to re-sync the video and audio streams.

    Probably not 🙂

  2. not super hard, it’s like 5 min of work, and some export from final cut or premier.

source I was an assistant editor for some time.

  3. Loyd’s appearance on the podcast is a good reason to have the video side of things up and running..

  4. I’m glad that California doesn’t have basements for the most part, because it seems like all they do is flood.

If you need to place to store your useless crap, use the attic.

  5. Motorola released a $129 unlocked smart phone this week called the Moto E. While the specs are sorta meh, it looks like a decent phone running Android KiKat 4.4 for those people who just use their phone for mainly making phone calls and/or texting. And yes, it has FM radio. 😉

    Just saying..

  6. This was my front yard 4 weeks after purchasing my first home, last year. We had about 4 foot of water in the basement, but lucky and nothing down stairs at the time. This picture was take a couple of hours after the nearby creek had crested then fallen, during the evening it was a few feet higher than the fire hydrant. Flooding is the absolute worst, wading through chest deep water to go bag sand and bring it back my house and seeing people in boats and canoes floating down the street was surreal!

  7. I’m curious if there’s anyone with real market penetration trying to do a MIPS mobile SoC.

  8. Re: Google Apps, also a crashing Spreadsheet app won’t take out your main Drive app or whatever.

  10. Unless you have some new information I’m unaware of, the situation with the ISS isn’t as dire as you make it out to be. The Russians have said they won’t continue their participation on ISS after 2020, but until then things would stay pretty much the same as they are now.

And about the prospect of a new space race: It doesn’t seem that far fetched, even though it probably won’t be as grandiose as it was. The lack of Russian engines for military launches and the possibility of losing Soyuz flights may give a boost to private space companies, like SpaceX. (Who already are making impressive progress with Falcon 9 and Dragon. Dragon Rider will be shown to the public on the 25th.)

  11. Although Mountain View/Sunnyvale could get Google Fiber. Nothing’s been announced beyond that they’re looking into it. I hope it does happen though, I would love nothing more than to ditch Comcast :/

I imagine it might take a couple of years to lay all that fiber out, no?

  12. Have the same ipad disconnecting from wifi problem as . Will it fix itself at some point just as mysteriously? I have a hard time believing that both our routers coincidentally and spontaneously began disliking the ipad.

  13. Take it there was a problem with this video too… you guys forget to check the SD again? (lol)

  14. What is the URL for where you found the prescription sports glasses? I’ve been looking for a pair of those for years.

  15. As with all podcasts with Loyd Case on them, take a shot every time Loyd says “right”. You’ll be wasted in record time.
