Also, the Thunderbirds portion of this podcast was very disheartening. I’m 28 and grew up with Thunderbirds when the entire series was re-broadcast when I was a kid. Doing CGI-puppets mixed with some kind of live action is just ridiculous. I feel like they’re being lazy and don’t want to hire true prop and puppet masters to create a real show. Instead, they’ll spend most of the money on CGI and then the show will suck.
Lastly, this last month has been AWESOME for content guys; ‘s shop videos have been great, the podcasts have been great (including the one with the Smith’s) and the tour of Adam’s shop – I have been waiting forever for that. Keep it up guys! 🙂

Frank seems awesome and this podcast was great. I’m a little bumbed that they dismissed Android Wear and didn’t really talk about it. But I guess they need more time with it.

Yeah Frank was annoying in spots. I got tired of him saying “giant phone” after the first time, he didn’t need to keep saying that over and over, and then the “I bet my iPhone camera is better” comment.
I thought his attitude towards Norm’s phone was kind of awkward. Why was there a need to bring it up so many times? 😐

Will started the whole big-phone joke, and kept it going just as much as Frank, and it *is* a fucking big phone. Frank is probably a bit out of his element with all the tech-chatter, but he kept up nicely IMO.

Sure it’s a big phone but it’s not outlandish, I have a Note 3 and it just feels normal…not big until you put it next to an iPhone or older Android phones, which look like they were made for toddlers now. (from my perspective after having adjusted)
Will brought it up lightly for one second at the beginning. Then frank continually hounded on it along with things like, “says the guy with skinny jeans” – which was even pretty irrelevant to the conversation.
Then there were the comments about the iPhone camera and about pranking the pastor (which I didn’t hear until just now)?! Holy crap, he unapologetically pranks a pastor like a pre-teen kid? What an idiot…
He mentioned it a handful of times in 1.5 hours. They’re friends, its a joke. re: skinny jeans comment, Will also called him a hipster because he didn’t like National Treasure… Would it have been more ok to prank call if the guy wasn’t a pastor?
You say you’ve been listening to the podcast for two years, this isn’t the worst case of (friendly) jokes and mockery by far. If it was one of the regular guests, you probably wouldn’t have noticed.
Speaking of drones, I’m excited for the HEXO+ (http://www.hexoplus.com/) and using it with the 360CAM (http://www.360.tv/). The cooler functionality is coming quicker and cheaper than I would’ve thought 6 months to a year ago.

I’m not sure what you’re getting at here. Prank calling strangers is something little kids do. It’s especially douchey when you’re doing it to a pastor. I’m not religious, but other people are and might find that particularly disrespectful).
He didn’t call him up because he was a pastor, he called him up because he (IMO wrongly) thought it’d be funny one night… he had the other Frank’s number since the guy owned the url for their name.
You find it objectable that someone pokes fun at Norm for being a “hipster” and carrying a huge phone, yet you have no problem creating an account on Tested purely to call the man an annoying asshole… based on 90 minutes of banter. I call that BS. I’ve not met Frank, but from his appearances on Tested, the last round on Face-Off and from following his FB-page, he seems like a really nice guy. He reads the comments on Tested and youtube whenever he appears, and his responses to questions are always knowledgable and polite (even when they are questions someone who is a television personality in his business have gotten thousands of times).
1. it doesn’t matter why you prank call a stranger. It only matters if you prank call a stranger.
2. He didn’t do it “one night” as you say. Frank said, “every once in a while I’ll drunk dial and prank him”.
3. It wouldn’t be an issue if he was apologetic and said, “yeah I probably shouldn’t have pranked the pastor. It was funny when I was drunk though.” We’ve all done dumb things when drunk, but you’re supposed to say sorry the next morning. Frank said, “I don’t care” like a brat.
Yea, another Stargate mention. Episode 200 was awesome. You guys didn’t ask Frank why the marionette SG-1 characters could re-materialize on the other side of the gate while still connected to something on the originating side as was stated as not working in the episode 32 minutes in Stargate atlantis :P. I know, I know it was part of a show inside a show so it doesn’t follow canon.
You guys should watch Stargate so you’ll have another Star show to talk about aside from Trek and Wars. 🙂
