I’ve had my macbook for 7 years and it’s still kicking. And Norm if I could have afforded a new macbook after college I would have purchased one but I’m probably not the only one with more need to pay my student loans than to replace my mac.
You absolutly should not ride a Skateboard without being able to footbreak. Meaning: put your back foot of the board and slide it over the ground.
I don’t care if it can break regeneratively, its like driving a car without breaks.

This is absolutely true. In fact, from the Boosted Board site: “YOUR BOARD CAN LOSE POWER AND BRAKES AT ANY MOMENT due to radio interference, a dead remote battery, unintentional release of the remote trigger, downhill overcharging of a full battery, or other factors. If this happens, the board turns back into an unpowered skateboard, so only ride Boosted at speeds and on hills where you’d be comfortable without power and brakes.”

With the way Apple treats their suppliers, you can almost be certain they pushed the sapphire people too far.

I live in Fredericksburg VA, and used to drive past the National Audio-Visual Conservation Center every day as it was being built. When I go to see a movie, I generally go to the place that charges $7.50 for the movie, popcorn, and drinks (total!). I don’t expect to get an experienced projectionist, I just want to see the movie now instead of waiting for it to come to Netflix.
In highschool I built a rocket that went a mile up. We had to get FAA approval to fly at all. They have been regulating this in Texas at least for a long time.
Yeah, I guess I’m just a little jealous as my choices are a couple of mid-range theaters, one place that’s a little more expensive with nice screens and IMAX (3D IMAX is ~$15), and the cheapo place. I can’t imagine being able to choose a theater based on how they project their movies…
Damn small towns. I do like the place that has individual lounge chairs and serves beer in the Chicagoland area that I go to sometimes, but I’m not driving 3 hours each way for a movie.
(That place has free valet parking. Paying for parking?!)
It looks that way, but I’ve read that the ‘Steve Jobs Rush everything always’ still is implemented to this day. Letting things blow up in their faces because they want everything their way on their schedule, when maybe that one day of additional time would have made a big difference.

Tested to Uber drivers “You have a shitty job you should get a better one.” I try not to be an asshole in internet comment sections but it’s tough. I know you guys aren’t against the Uber drivers but their corporate overlords but opinions you relate can affect a person’s personal income. I know you guys are making mad internet money but some of us live in the real world. 😛

Hmm, surprised to hear Norm thinking the Moto360 being bulky. I’ve been wearing one from morning to night for the last two weeks. I had been wearing a Fossil watch for about two years but only out of the house. It’s as thick as the Moto360, but far heavier. The watch itself is also bigger. It wasn’t comfortable to use at the computer (which I’m on all day). Granted, my Fossil was a little large, but I feel like this Moto is about average to small for a watch.
I remember Norm saying before he started playing around with the LG Smart Watches, he never wore wrist watches. Sounds like that’s coloring both our opinions.
You guys talk about archiving emails in gmail. Why would you do that? What’s the purpose? I just mark it as read and keep everything in a giant inbox (8,300 now). Thought this was “normal”..? Never understood the point of archiving, other than making it more difficult to find anything since I’d have to go into another folder.
Am I missing something? How many email do you guys have in your Inbox at any one time?
edit: I’m only using 2GB of 15GB available so space isn’t an issue. And won’t archived emails count against that anyway? Still confused
Just polished off last week’s podcast. I think you need to spend a bit more time with Inbox – it allows you to do exactly what you want to do with notification, unless there’s some weird limitation on the IOS app.
On Android and PC, at least, notifications can be toggled per-label. Just create a label for your critical contacts, and then if you are on your phone select a mail from one of the people you want in there and choose “Move to -Label-“, and it should pop a box on the bottom that asks if you want to do this every time. If you’re on your PC, go into the inbox web app, and into the label settings and you can just add rules to drop everyone into that label from your contacts – took me all of about 10 minutes to set up my critical labels.
Still some flaws, but they seem to be updating frequently. As with Jeremy, my inbox has never been cleaner.
